It is easy to associate the Rhino with Africa but they are in fact known as the gentle giant of Indian grasslands as well even though they are bigger than their African counterparts. The Indian rhino is a true marvel of the animal kingdom! These colossal creatures boast thick, armour-like skin, and their most prominent feature is the massive horn on their snouts. So why is their design so important. They use their horns to protect their young but also for foraging. The thick hide of course is a protective plating but they scar easily just the same. They roll in the mud to coat themselves to protect against mosquitos as their blood vessels are close to the surface. For an unforgettable encounter with these magnificent beasts, visit Kaziranga National Park in the northeastern state of Assam, India. The best time to spot them is during the dry season from November to April when they gather around water bodies. What differentiates the Indian rhino is its singular horn and the fact that it's the greater one-horned rhinoceros species. They are known for their docile nature, often seen peacefully grazing in lush grasslands. Their sheer size and unique appearance make them a must-see in the wild, a living testament to nature's incredible diversity. Need to design your own itinerary? You are in the right place. Superyachts are the ultimate status symbol for royal families, oligarchs and billionaires from Jeff Bezos to Bernard Arnault. The floating palaces are a source of fascination and secrecy — and greenhouse gas emissions. The planet-warming pollution caused by luxury vessels that benefit the very few has led lifestyle social scientist Gregory Salle to dub them a form of “ecocide” and “conspicuous seclusion” in his new book, Superyachts: Luxury, Tranquility and Ecocide. There are almost 6,000 superyachts — that is, vessels over 30 meters (100 feet) — at sea, according to a report earlier this year by media and market intelligence company SuperYacht Times. The total has quadrupled in the past three decades. bit.ly/3z92PsF

Road Trip: How Long Does It Take to Drive Around Sicily? Sicily, far from being a mere blip on the map, commands attention as the largest island in the Mediterranean, sprawling across 25,711 square kilometers (9,927 square miles). To put its magnitude into perspective, imagine a landmass larger than Vermont and slightly smaller than Massachusetts in the United States. Indeed, Sicily’s expanse rivals that of some nations. Let’s assume you are sketching out an epic road trip across Sicily. The notion of tracing its coastline conjures visions of enchanting vistas, quaint villages, and the allure of endless exploration. But hold onto your itinerary for a moment; Sicily beckons with far more than a scenic drive.

Forget beachfront villas and five-star cruises—the playground of the #ultrawealthy has gone stratospheric (literally). From scaling uncharted peaks to diving into oceanic abysses, Earth's extremes are the new must-have accessory for the adventurous billionaire. Space, the final frontier? Not anymore. Virgin Galactic's sleek VSS Unity has blasted open the doors to suborbital tourism, ferrying thrill-seeking civilians to the edge of space for a cool $200,000 a pop. It's a playground for the 0.1%, a #statussymbol more exclusive than a private jet with its own caviar bar. But Earth's depths beckon too. Plunge miles below the surface in submersibles, face-to-face with the ghostly wreck of the Titanic. Just watch out for...catastrophic implosions, as one unfortunate crew discovered. So, what fuels this appetite for the #extreme? Is it the thrill of defying gravity, or the Instagrammable bragging rights? Perhaps it's both. But for destinations and brands, it's a golden opportunity. Cater to these cosmonauts and aquanauts, tailor experiences that push the boundaries of luxury and #adventure, and you'll tap into a market with pockets as deep as the Mariana Trench. This isn't just about tourism; it's about redefining #luxury. Forget generic spas and predictable safaris. Offer expeditions to unclimbed peaks, build underwater villas where Nemo would vacation, and create experiences so exclusive, they make owning a BUGATTI feel mainstream. If you want to know how the ultra-wealthy are pushing the limits of travel, and how the travel industry can do the same, check out Ally Elphick’s provocactive report. #travel #ExtremeExperiences #HNWIs #tourism https://hubs.li/Q02hfkP50
