30 years ago the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame was born when 47 Connecticut women were inducted at the first-ever Induction Ceremony. A tradition that has continued annually growing the Hall from 47 to 148 women! Join us as we honor the inaugural class of #CWHFinductees in anticipation of celebrating a new class of Inductees at our 31st Annual Induction Ceremony and Celebration on October 22, 2024, at The Bushnell! We begin with Mary Jobe Akeley, an explorer, photographer, and author who achieved international recognition for her efforts to save the endangered wildlife of Africa. She was a woman who lived beyond the traditional construct of female roles, choosing to live a life of adventure. Last fall, BPW embarked on an inspiring journey with the Trailblazer series. This series wasn't just about events; it was a mission to illuminate the path for aspiring leaders in the realm of politics and advocacy, guided by our belief that a community of women who support greater equality for all people through education, leadership, and advocacy is needed and necessary. The Trailblazer series unfolded in three dynamic chapters, each designed to bridge gaps, foster connections, and share the wisdom of experience. Our kickoff event brought together women from various political backgrounds, offering a platform for those who've led, those who are leading, and those who aspire to lead. Their stories were not just shared; they were woven into a collective narrative of ambition, resilience, and success, underscored by our commitment to being more than consultants—being allies in their journey. The conversation expanded in our second event, drawing in both men and women who work behind the scenes. Campaign managers, volunteers, press secretaries, and organizers came together to peel back the curtain on the strategic groundwork that powers every successful campaign. We delved into the nuts and bolts of campaigning, emphasizing that success is built on a foundation of solid planning, reliable information, and adaptable strategies, all fostered by supportive partnerships. Our final installment focused on the fundamentals of campaigning, a testament to our belief in the power of knowledge and preparation. As we shared insights and strategies, we reinforced our role as not just advisors but as partners committed to turning ambition into action. Thank you to our partner, TheChamberYXE, for helping us to promote and engage, the The Saskatoon Club for hosting us, and to our many, many presenters who shred their time, knowledge and experiences with us. What's next? We're hosting a member meeting soon to discuss that, and we encourage you to buy a membership and join us. Visit our website for more information ---> https://bpwsaskatoon.com/

🌟 Let's kick off Women's History Month by honoring the legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a trailblazer who urged us to leave tracks and make the world better for future generations. As we celebrate her remarkable contributions, let's also remember the importance of leaving well-planned tracks for our loved ones. At Pierce Legal, we understand the significance of thoughtful estate planning in ensuring your legacy lives on and your loved ones are cared for. Let's honor RBG's wisdom by taking proactive steps to secure the future. 📜💼 #WomensHistoryMonth #RBG #EstatePlanning

Today we highlighted three of my favorite women in history for different reasons. Is there a woman that inspires you? Share below. #womenhistorymonth #womenentrepreneurs #womeninbusiness
To kick off this Women’s History Month, we’d like to celebrate the women who have made history, are making history, and going to make history. These three women are just a few of many we look up to and appreciate for their contributions to society. ♀️Mel Robbins because as fellow a entrepreneur and anxious person, her advice is always spot on. And her story is downright inspiring and proves you can achieve your goals if you have gumption, grit, and discipline in a way that works for you. ♀️Dolly Parton for standing up for what she believes in, always. She doesn’t let anyone define her, and she’s always a bright light in a world that wants to bring people like her down. She also firmly believes in giving children access to books and the power of giving back, two things we can appreciate here. ♀️And Ruth for showing the world that women’s rights matter, too. I’m a huge fan of RBG, and love the message she left with the world-the message that women are a force and capable of anything a man is capable of, and then some. Happy Women’s History Month! #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenBusinessOwners #WomenAdvocates

The idea of civilization often involves the establishment of norms, laws, and principles that guide human behavior, particularly in times of conflict. One fundamental aspect of civilization is the recognition and adherence to limits, even amidst disagreements or warfare. These limits can manifest in various forms: International Law: Nations often agree upon treaties and conventions that outline acceptable behavior during times of conflict. These establish rules for the treatment of prisoners of war, civilians, and other persons in times of conflict. Human Rights: Civilized societies recognize and protect certain fundamental rights and freedoms, such as the right to life, liberty, and security of person, specialy civilians in war zone. These rights are considered inviolable and should be respected even during times of conflict. Ethical Codes: Many cultures and religions, including Islam, have ethical codes that emphasize the importance of treating others with dignity and respect, even in the midst of disagreement or conflict. Rules of Engagement: Military forces often operate under rules of engagement that dictate the acceptable use of force and behavior during conflict. These rules aim to minimize civilian casualties and unnecessary suffering. Diplomacy and Negotiation: Civilized societies prioritize diplomacy and negotiation as means of resolving disputes and conflicts peacefully, rather than resorting immediately to violence. Accountability: In civilized societies, there is a recognition of the need for accountability for actions that violate established norms and laws. This may involve mechanisms such as international criminal tribunals or domestic courts. While conflicts and disagreements may arise, adhering to these limits is essential for maintaining a sense of civilization and ensuring that even in the midst of turmoil, fundamental principles of humanity and decency are upheld. On October 7th, H💀mas disregarded all of these directives on October 7th, which demonstrates that they are not part of the civilized world, but rather represent pure evil. Defending or glorifying Hamas places individuals in alignment with an uncivilized stance. #bringthemhome #bringthemhomenow #releaseourhostagesnow https://lnkd.in/dfeycCQY
