An excellent program and invaluable learning experience.

As students progress through the #PharmD program, they can expect both faculty support and an innovative curriculum. Daisha, University of California, San Francisco PharmD Class of 2024, shared how our faculty were influential in shaping her learning in the second year. "There was a lot of new information in our first therapeutics theme. Different faculty members took the time to meet individually and have a dialogue with me to help me refine my understanding." The PharmD program curriculum is organized by Integrated Themes, allowing students to explore and deepen knowledge in a range of therapeutic topics. Attend conferences, learn, and network? Unsure of where to start? Consider beginning with ASHP Midyear in your second year of school: ASHP Midyear: Firstly, I love traveling solo, so I registered, booked my hotel, pumped gas in the car, and off I went. I had the opportunity to connect with numerous fellows, residency program directors and candidates. The best part? I felt at ease asking all my questions without the pressure of being a fourth year student. It also subconsciously helped me understand what is expected of me in my last year as a pharmacy student. How should I dress? How do I navigate conference room 203 versus conference room 4? Interviews, first impressions, connecting over dinner, oh... and com-fort-able shoes are pretty helpful too. Exploring Fellowships: Attending ASHP Midyear also introduced me to fellows from the Rutgers Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship (RPIF) Program . Engaging with them allowed me to learn more about their unique experiences and the paths they took to get to their current roles. It provided me with insight on how I should prepare as a fourth year pharmacy student. I highly recommend attending ASHP Midyear, especially if you do not know where to start. After your second year, you can narrow your conference selections based on your interests in the years moving forward. All that is to say, I hope to meet you at the happiest place on earth this Fall! 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬! Two weeks ago, some of our students had the possibility to participate in the Clinical Winter School organized by Synapse - Life Science Connect. Over the course of three intensive days, they dove deep into Denmark's clinical trial landscape, getting invaluable insights shared by industry leaders such as Novartis and Novo Nordisk. The students got firsthand knowledge that helped them understand how clinical trials work in detail throughout the entire value chain, from preclinical evidence to market access strategy. Some of the topics were the differences between public and private clinical trials, an extensive introduction to Good Clinical Practice or important ethical considerations and regulations needed for clinical trials. Our students didn't just sit back and listen during the event; they actively worked through real-life case studies. With guidance from the speakers and what they learned, they could analyze the cases and see how each choice matters in every phase of clinical trials. This hands-on learning not only made their knowledge stronger but also gave them practical skills they'll need for future work in clinical trials, like designing them. The experience at Synapse's Clinical Winter School Event was crucial for those interested in clinical trials. This opportunity was excellent to motivate students to relate their knowledge with the reality of clinical trials with the aim of making big changes in the industry and helping society. They also got advice on how to kick-start their careers in clinical trials, which will be of great help when they finish their studies. 📣Calling all PharmD students Back in January, I started a pilot program for pre-pharmacy and PharmD students. The goal of this program is to equip students with support, skills, and impactful projects that will help them ✨thrive✨ as they continue on their pharmacy journey. 💊The impactful projects that they work on are geared toward serving other pharmacy students. Three of the students within the program created a survey to understand the needs of current pharmacy students so that we (Learn With Libby LLC) can serve them better. 💻This 10-question survey is anonymous and confidential so feel free to be as real and raw as you would like. It should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete. The link to the survey and more details can be found in the comments! Thank you for your time and support. We’re excited to review the responses, share emerging trends, and build the resources our pharmacy students need. 📌Please share with current PharmD students! The Canadian Consortium for Clinical Trials Education (CANTRAIN), funded by CIHR, led by Professor Jean Bourbeau as the designated lead researcher, and the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC), are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking agreement with CCRE CLINICAL RESEARCH INC. The agreement licenses two regulatory compliance courses, with more expected, marking a significant step in CANTRAIN's mission to elevate training standards in clinical trials.
