Comfortably the most insightful webinar I've had the pleasure of being a part of. This morning we tackled the topic of Consumer Duty Board Reporting ahead of the upcoming regulatory deadline of 31st July. The panel had unique and varied perspectives - chair people, board representatives, consumer duty champions, responsible owners for board reporting, innovative solution providers, industry experts. Over 100 attendees covering almost every UK Building Society heard how: 📖 Quantitative data is essential for outcomes monitoring, but there is an art in constructing a compelling, easy to understand narrative that drives actions for the society 🏦 Consumer Duty is for the Society first - it is an *exciting* (Chris Adlard), cultural change that organisations need to embrace, not just a regulatory afterthought 🍉 It's important for the board to understand the approach and rationale behind conclusions that are being drawn. We can't get into a mode of Watermelon Reporting that obscures from underlying good or bad outcomes 🏛 Every Society is unique, therefore every Board Report will inevitably be unique - the approach to data, the conclusions drawn, the method of segmenting and understanding customers ⏳ This is not a one and done exercise - reporting and monitoring needs to be embedded into the day to day (where possible) and we might even see a world where it gets harder to evidence adherence to the Duty as adherence to the Duty improves 😲 Thanks to docStribute®️ for organising, the panellists Nemone Wynn-Evans, Rachel Curtis, Chris Adlard, Philip Shelley for their contribution, Paniz Mojahedi, MBA and Alice Foley for preparation. (and get well soon Donna james I hope we can get you on a panel in the future)!

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. If this post’s photos of industry leaders and young staff is any indication, the adage rings true. These young padwans are in good hands with Knight Frank senior management. As mentors and powerful industry voices, our #global and #local leaders have decades of experience between them. They offer many opportunities for #nextgen to write their own Knight Frank stories and chart their own successful #realestate career paths to be proud of. Set goals. Reach out. Ask questions. Seek answers. Break new ground. The future shines bright.

Michael Tooma’s International Keynote at the Safeguard Magazine Health and Safety Show in Auckland rocked my world today! His title “The art of Influencing Boards”, belied the practical simplicity of what he shared: Boards are busy. Here’s what matters and why: 1. Safety is relevant to boards because doing the right thing is good for the financial sustainability of the business. As Boeing recently discovered, “markets can do in hours what regulators take years to achieve” 🛬 2. Be Brief. Ask for an hour, present for 20 minutes. Let the board decide how to get value from the remaining 40 minutes. 3. If a board has to spend too much time on something it represents a vote of no-confidence in management.❌ 4. Boards follow industry best practice, so innovations or diversions from it need to be incremental. 5. Be practical. Field evidence in relevant industries trumps academic research. I'm excited about writing my next executive-audience proposal 📢 How about you?

Today was our QBR day, and it's always my favorite day of our five-chapter year. It's a chance to celebrate our team's wins and, most importantly, the learnings from our therapists and how we can better serve them. Reflecting on our journey, we see where we've made good decisions to serve our therapists and where we've had missteps that seemed right at the time for our business. Striking this balance in company building is tough, but it becomes easier when your teams, from executives to staff, stay close to the customer – in our case, the therapists. With each chapter, I can see us getting closer to our goals. The upcoming chapter is particularly exciting as we focus on three key themes from our therapists: Reducing the pain and rewarding the completion of chores Therapist personalization and value adds Access to human experts Lastly, as building cohesiveness and buy-in across teams is important, here's a snapshot from our OKR doc that Kristin Kaiser Mulligan put together to motivate the team around the year. With a value proposition heavily driven by tax, we have a business that operates much like a climbing stage in the Tour de France. This small thematic touch reiterates why our team believes so deeply in KK as our day-to-day operational leader and Company President.
