NEWS: Clemson University Breaks Ground on College of Veterinary Medicine -- Clemson University will break ground in summer of 2024 on a $190 million facility for the College of Veterinary Medicine. Addressing a nationwide shortage of veterinarians, the complex will offer sophisticated learning environments for programs in animal health. The development will support a distributed pedagogical model that prepares students to go directly to local animal hospitals for training and clinical study, instead of spending several years in a teaching hospital. Designed by Flad Architects, LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD., and Foil Wyatt Architects & Planners, the collaborative structure will provide classrooms, teaching labs, research labs, and support space. A range of outdoor paddocks and pens will foster experiential education, training, and discovery. Turner Construction is the general contractor for the project, which represents the state’s first college of veterinary medicine. Occupancy is slated for fall of 2026. https://lnkd.in/e2bg2X-f #Collaboration #AnimalResearch #HigherEducation

Professor Internal Medicine - Royal Veterinary College, U. of London - Michigan State University - Co-Founder Veterinary Specialist Consultations & VIN Europe, President-Elect ECVIM
I learned my anatomy using the expensive (250 Dutch guilders at the time +/- USD 200) German Anatomy Textbook by Nickel - black & white drawings with tiny little letters indicating the name of the structure explained in the tiny little legend below the figures - by the time you got to the legend, one had forgotten where the structure was in the 2D picture.....a world apart from the learner-friendly FREE 3D anatomy software on offer to all vet students in the entire world via Veterinary Information Network - again for free, no strings attached - because: is it not part of our calling to make the route into our profession for generations after us more accessible, more doable and more fun? I think so #veterinary #veterinarymedicine #valuedriven #vetstudent? Get your free www.vin.com student account now
Calling all #vetstudents: anatomy exams coming up like these 3rd year students at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Utrecht University)? Make sure to do what they did after VIN Europe visited last night: get a FREE student account for the Veterinary Information Network and use revolutionary 3D anatomy software, exam flashcards, MCQs, a Virtual Clinic and much, much more, to ACE those (and other) exams. Why does www.vin.com offer this for free? Hello, all veterinary students in clinics! Are you making the most out of your clinical rotations? Take a moment to watch this short video to learn about the power of asking questions and engagement during your rotations. Asking insightful questions is one of the most powerful tools you have during your clinical rotations. Don't be afraid to ask your peers for insights on how to navigate the rotation or for tips on a specific procedure. The technicians are a wealth of knowledge; ask about their experiences with different attendings, or for clarification on patient care. And your attendings? They're there to teach! Ask questions about diagnoses, treatment options, and the thought processes behind their decisions. Remember, asking thoughtful questions demonstrates your engagement and commitment to learning – your peers, technicians, and attendings will appreciate your initiative! #AO #NorthAmerica #AOVET #AmericanCollegeofVeterinarySurgeons #ACVS AO North America AO VET American College of Veterinary Surgeons - ACVS #veterinary #students #clinics #rotation
