"One of the things that we value so much from the trust barometer is it gives us the data and the understanding of our audiences, and then we can make recommendations on how to build trust. And what we see time and time again is that trust comes from not only clear information, but information and dialogue and a shared sense of values." In the latest episode of the Reimagining Rural Health podcast, Lynn Hanessian, chief health strategist for global communications company Edelman, discusses health care trends and the trust barometer. Great to sit down with Lauren Sadler, who is a health and social care transformation consultant, exploring how we can achieve better integration between local authorities and the NHS. We explored the challenges and the solutions in a compact, but highly productive conversation. If you start with the why, instead of the governance, the momentum can help overcome the considerable challenges to integration. #transformation #socialandhealthcare #podcast

Claudia Williams, the conversations you're having and sharing with us are timely and powerful. Expressing my own gratitude for your work. A few highlights for me personally: -Each episode is simultaneously reminding me of the expansive nature of what's going wrong (or at least what could be better), and providing hope and real vision for what can be done to turn the ship. Raising funds and distributing $$ isn't a replacement for balancing the scales of power and agency. -In this episode with Alan in particular the language of inequities and systemic issues being "rooted" is such an apt description. It's nuanced and complex and the work to identify it is a massive challenge, before any work to address it even begins. Anyone that has had even a modest garden knows that removing weeds is not a one time affair, nor is it effective to cut them off above the ground. A healthy garden/community is achieved through perpetual and intentional state of mindfulness with equally perpetual action that enables the flourishing we all want to see. -Thinking smaller to achieve bigger. The lure for so many investors and management teams is to have "their" model be the the one that achieves national significance, impact and truth be told $$. Yielding power and investment in the direction of smaller, community-based organizations may provide us a better path to the outcomes we claim we want to see.
We're back from our break and super excited to launch Season 2 of The Other 80 podcast. This season we’ll be drilling down on questions about what works and how to scale. Alan Weil, Editor-in-Chief at Health Affairs, is the perfect person to start this conversation. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/e47QVkVV Or wherever you access podcasts: https://lnkd.in/eyjzAH68 I knew asking Alan to join the podcast would mean zooming out to look at the bigger picture. His ability to put into words what many of us are thinking (or missing altogether) is epic. But this conversation went in a direction I did not expect - a discussion of governance and power. Alan asks us to avoid the easy path of having health systems or health plans lead on whole person health. Instead, communities and the organizations that already serve them should be in the lead. They should have the agency, power and resources. What's that going to take? We also discuss: - How states use Medicaid to create entirely new delivery systems - That we should not bank on savings from whole person care - The keys to successful implementation: focus on customer experience, implement iteratively and have strong feedback loops - The missed opportunities to understand and solve for the underlying roots of inequity So welcome back, have a listen, and share this great conversation with a friend or colleague

Vice President, Patient Support at Novant Health | Redefining CX in Healthcare | Meeting & Exceeding Community Needs | Serving All People
Such an insightful podcast from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement! Helen Bevan highlights a stark transition in #PatientCareQuality happening now: #accessibility. Empowering individuals to take charge of their health promotes a focus on preventive and patient-centered care. Patients who actively participate in decision-making regarding their health foster a more collaborative relationship between themselves and their healthcare providers. By encouraging self-care and providing tools for health management, the burden on traditional healthcare facilities can be reduced. This is particularly important in times of public health crises or when healthcare systems are under strain. As populations age and healthcare needs evolve, a shift towards decentralized care allows for more adaptable and flexible healthcare delivery models. Transitioning away from a location-centric healthcare model to one that empowers individuals to manage their health wherever they are is essential for our changing world. #Healthcare #HealthcareAccess #HealthcareSystem
Imagine a tax-funded health care system—a source of national pride—offering universal coverage and free health care to 54 million people.
