An unforgettable story in leadership. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the LeaderEx Summit at Sandton Convention Centre. During the event, I popped into a panel with Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Monalisa Sibongile Zwambila, MBA facilitated by Peter Ndoro The session's topic was "From Scars to Stars: 3 Unforgettable Stories of Leadership in Action." I loved the stories these remarkable women shared. There were no handouts. No silver spoons. Just sheer hard work, determination, and grit. One particular story that I found captivating was Monalisa's detailing of one of her first pitch wins. Upon winning the pitch, she needed to find a supplier willing to work with her - and give her a line of credit (with no prior history). After hitting the pavement (as she had no money for petrol) and knocking on numerous doors, there was only 1 supplier who agreed to help her while the rest said "no". It's a good thing they did, as they continue to be a supplier to her agency today, 15 years later. There is no linear path to success. Every single one of us has our unique journey, but there is one thing those who have succeeded have in common: they have not done it alone. There is no such thing as "self-made." We are all products of the experiences and people who have been there on our journey. We don't realise this looking forward, only in retrospect. Remember that the next time you come across anyone who wants to collaborate, asks for advice, or asks you to make a referral. Like everything that matters in life, relationships compound and grow better with time.

2 limericks in one week, that's a record for me 🍀 But what do limericks have to with #salesmanagement? I'll tell you: it's all about publicizing wins! 🏆 Here's limerick 1 of 2 from last week... as shared with my fellow ~70 RP'ers at RevPartners (see video). And here are a few more easy ways to celebrate and recognize your #salesteam! 🍀 Say thank you: A heartfelt thank you makes people feel valued and motivated. Don't underestimate this, because... 👉 If you don't appreciate people, you depreciate them. 🍀Public recognition: Managers can acknowledge effort and accomplishment, which can encourage peer-to-peer recognition. 🍀Celebrate accomplishments: Celebrations can recognize accomplishments such as signing a new account, highlighting a new tactic, or collaborating with a teammate. 🍀Professional development opportunities: Employees who feel they have opportunities for growth are more likely to stay with the organization. Coming soon: Limericks as a service...
