97% of internal communicators say messaging apps are an effective channel. But only 18% of us use them in our organisations*. When our resident internal comms expert Jessica Roberts (*reading from this year’s State of the Sector Report by Gallagher) told us this, the first thing we thought of was… WhatsApp. She told us that when speaking to clients and IC pros on our training programme, people tell her one of two things holds them back from exploring Whatsapp: 😱 Fear - being unsure it meets GDPR and Data Protection rules. 🫠 Confidence - being unsure how it would work in a work context.
