In the realm of construction tech, OpenSpace’s move might appear a tad absurd at first glance – strapping a 360-degree camera onto a hard hat. But, you know what they say, "Innovation often starts with a crazy idea." Much like the architectural world was taken aback when the Centre Pompidou was unveiled in Paris, this approach challenges conventional norms in the construction documentation field. The Centre George Pompidou, with its iconic inside-out design, exposed its structural and services elements on the exterior, essentially flipping architecture's rulebook. OpenSpace, in a similar vein, is flipping the script for construction site documentation. The hard hat-mounted camera captures every angle, documenting progress in an unprecedented way. So, the power of audacious ideas that push boundaries should be celebrated. Sometimes, the unconventional becomes the game-changer, and both OpenSpace and Centre Pompidou are shining examples of that. #Innovation #ConstructionTech #CentreGeorgePompidou #UnconventionalThinking Sander Lijbers Jaco B. BEHIND THE FORMS X SPATIAL METAPHOR North Gallery @northgalleryscut, Guangzhou, China 09/18 - 10/20 2023 Part I | SPATIAL Under such a trend, architecture is often recognized and discussed solely as man-made materials, while its seemingly non-natural features in contrast to the external world are standardized and mechanized, leading to a tendency where the study of relations between architecture and the environment are quantified in terms of regulations, hierarchies, and systems. Thus in the context today where the various doctrines and ideologies are gradually being dissolved and abandoned, the so-called ideal forms directed by certain commoditized and stylized design thinking are gradually emerging, potentially dominating the architectural discourse in almost the entire macro era in terms of materials and technologies. #JXYStudio #culture #art #architecture #exhibition https://lnkd.in/g_3dtgFd

Where do you get your inspiration? 🥲 People often ask where I find my design inspiration. It comes from many places: songs, books, nature, and influential people like Frank Gehry. Frank Gehry, known for his groundbreaking designs like the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, reshaped modern architecture. His fearless approach and innovative use of materials inspire my work daily. Gehry shows us that creativity and pushing boundaries are essential for impactful design. #realestate #architecture #designinspiration #innovativearchitecture #sustainabledesign #architecturalinspiration #creativearchitecture #buildingdesign #modernarchitecture

How can you exhibit a space? How can you exhibit an experience? ✨Join to dive into this immersive architectural journey with us ✨
We are proud to announce the exhibition ‘Aware’ developed by 3XN GXN in collaboration with Danish Architecture Center. The exhibition will be an immersive experience, inviting you to explore the relationship between architecture and the senses. Aware presents the fundamental ingredients of space: not concrete or steel, but relations between bodies and spaces, between human emotions and spatial atmospheres. Aware encourages us to explore and reflect on our experience in space, delving into the behavioral principles behind architecture and their transformative potential. Uncover the hidden questions beneath the surface: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙤? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙤𝙣 𝙪𝙨, 𝙤𝙣 𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙡? Aware will be on display from March 22nd – September 15th 2024 at Danish Architecture Center (Dansk Arkitektur Center) in #Copenhagen. Join us at the opening on Thursday 21 March from 17:00 to 21:00. All info about the exhibition and official opening: https://lnkd.in/dWtr3-Xx THANK YOU: Aware is made possible with support from Realdania, #KnudHøjgaardsFond, #BeckettFonden, Ole Kirk's Fond, Statens Kunstfond and #NationalbankensJubilæumsfond. "Architecture is so focused on personal freedom, it’s done such a good job at doing that, that people are disconnected." Craig Kerslake Wiradjuri Nation, managing director of Nguluway DesignInc, recently spoke to ADR about what he thinks contemporary architectural narratives get wrong about privacy, and his desire to layer connection through 'brackish spaces'. "Unleashing Architectural Fantasia: Journey into the Unicorn World" Embark on a journey into the Unicorn World, where audacious works of architecture defy the limits of paper, reaching boldly into the realm of the impossible. Undeterred by the aghast expressions of the unsuspecting public, these structures stand resolute, challenging notions of insignificance. In this fantastical realm, architects understand the necessity of unraveling the mysteries behind their creations. Beyond the birth pool of creativity, the imagination reigns supreme, not to be restrained but rather tamed to weave an eclectic tapestry that beckons to answer the seemingly unimaginable questions we grapple with. This is not just a whimsical pursuit; it's a vibrant narrative that confronts the very essence of desire and addresses the underlying issues of creativity. The Unicorn World doesn't shy away from the unconventional; instead, it offers an exhilarating counterpoint to a revolutionary shift in Arcadia. I am delighted to share my updated portfolio showcasing my architectural design works from Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design, Istanbul Technical University Bachelor of Architecture, and Architectural Association AA Visiting School Sirince. Currently I am a Graduate Student at Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning in the Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design with a Territory of Investigation in Urbanism. The question I am looking into exploring and researching about in Cornell is “ Unused and unjust infrastructures oppress the spacial memories and social heritage of public spaces. In this context, how can architecture propose a transformative vision of public space, infrastructure and urban realities, to strengthen community bonds through participatory, diverse, and inclusive spatial programs and forms that are better for communities? How can flexible and queer architectural practices, together with a deep understanding of the culture, needs, rituals, and individuals of each community on the site and urban scale, as well as approaches the fields of sociology, public policy, feminist and queer studies, and urban planning help us answer this question?" Relating to this research Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, Option Studio, Affirmative Architectures with Lindsay Harkema investigated East Harlem and specifically La Marqueta, A public market with a Puerto Rican Cultural Significance. The studio was to explore a way to design to affirm specific groups of communities and design public spaces that nurture individuality and empowerment by the method of affirming a specific need, all community members benefit from a more equitable environment. The project allowed for engaging with community members as well as government agencies to design a collective plan for the market and the lots under the Park Avenue Viaduct in East Harlem.
