HOW MUCH 💷💰WOULD IT TAKE FOR YOU TO LIVE AND WORK ABROAD? Last week, I received an email from a job recruitment company notifying me that my LinkedIn profile page had been flagged, apparently my skills as a senior commercial photographer were much in demand in the Middle East, specifically in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE. Slightly flattered and somewhat interested, I clicked on the link to see several positions that looked very interesting and also ticked many of the boxes I would look for in a job. And, on top of this, the salaries were well-paid and of course tax-free. Many other jobs also looked to be a good fit for my particular skills, and many others from a variety of different occupations looked to be filled. Most were 12-month contracts and as I’ve mentioned tax-free. I started to wonder how plausible it might be for me to look for a professional photographer's position in the Middle East…would I like it? Could my wife come with me? How would my student-studying daughter feel about me moving over there? And what about our two dogs and the cat? Well, one of those questions was immediately answered by my wife, who flatly refused even to consider the idea, besides her practice was way too busy to leave even for a month. But she did say I was free to go if I really wanted to.....but I didn't think she really meant that...I think?? So, does anyone have any experience of working in the Middle East? It is customary for individuals to address their colleagues using terms of endearment such as "love," "bro," or "sis," which deviates from the established norms of professional conduct.
