The newly elected Labour government have been elected with a vote share of 33.7%, from a electoral turnout of 60%... 💡 This means just 20% of the UK electorate (or around 9.3 million people) voted for Labour... which presumably means plenty of people don't know what our new government has planned for small businesses! 🤷♀️ Find out in my latest article for Croner-i, "What are Labour’s pledges for businesses and governance?" here: https://lnkd.in/gcNZYfB4

Keir Starmer and The Labour Party winning the next general election is just the beginning. The key is building a functional government that can address the country's challenges. #Brexit has been disastrous for our economy. For the nation's sake, and to put ‘country first and party second’, it's crucial to address the Brexit situation and consider rejoining the single market. If not, the phrase "Let's get Britain's future back" becomes mere words, with little hope for economic and public service improvements. Keir Starmer hails results as game-changer https://lnkd.in/enDhK39t

#RE: UK's Labour Party is set to end 14 years of power in Britain. ❕ Britain's Conservatives, after 14 years in power, are projected to face a historic defeat in the upcoming general election. ❕ The opposition Labour Party, led by Keir Starmer, is on the precipice of a potential parliamentary supermajority. ❕ A survey by the Telegraph projected a "Tory wipeout," with the former ruling party dropping to 53 seats from its current 365 in the House of Commons, and Labour securing a 516-seat haul. ❕ The Conservatives may not even end up being the largest party in opposition, with the centrist Liberal Democrats potentially winning more constituencies than them. ❕ The election is seen as a possible "extinction-level" event for the Tories, who have presided over an astonishing period of political and economic turbulence since winning power in 2010. ❕ Widening inequality, slumping productivity, and an entrenched cost-of-living crisis are the main issues facing Britain. ❕ The UK general election is scheduled for Thursday, July 4, 2024 The upcoming political elections in France, the UK, and the US are introducing uncertainty into financial markets. As a result, we’re witnessing increased volatility in both equity and capital markets.

So, on the basis of their election manifesto, what tax changes can we expect to see a Labour government implement, and what financial planning implications will these have for expats? https://lnkd.in/ePCdTWhR

→ What John Major said in 2019 applies today 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗫𝗜𝗧 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛 – 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗢 He said it in July 2019, but what former Prime Minister, Sir John Major, said then could be said today. Maybe more so today than then. ▪ Most of Parliament believes Brexit is a disaster that is damaging to Britain – applies today. ▪ MPs feel hamstrung to do anything because of the result of a referendum – applies today. ▪ The British government is allowing Brexit to proceed THAT THEY KNOW will be bad for the working people of this country – applies today. ▪ The primary responsibility of Parliament is to speak for the well-being of the country – applies today. ▪ The country was misled in the referendum – applies today. ▪ We now know the facts of what Brexit means and therefore Parliament should give voters the opportunity to reflect on the decision – applies today. If only the current Prime Minister would say this, and not just a former Prime Minister. © Commentary and video compilation by Jon Danzig #Brexit #EU #EuropeanUnion #Labour #KeirStarmer The Labour Party Keir Starmer Labour Movement for Europe
