Thrilled to experience 7th Annual Sports Tournament at SKH Metals Ltd. History of the Paysera Kyiv office corporate event in a bowling 🏆 This weekend, our energetic team from the Paysera Kyiv office decided to spend time together a little differently. We put our laptops aside and plunged into the world of bowling, the game in which became a clear confirmation that the Paysera team is something more than just work colleagues 🤝 Goals and objectives: The initial goal of this corporate event was simple - team building and entertainment. We wanted to strengthen the bonds between our employees, develop team spirit and improve interaction in an informal environment. How did the game go: The day began with exciting anticipation and cheerful mood. From the very first throw it became clear that each of us was ready to fight and show our skills. There were moments of laughter, tension and excitement, but at the end of each game we all applauded each other, no matter the outcome. The bowling challenge strengthened our unity and added new memories to our relationship. On this day we not only had a great time, but also got to know each other better. This game reminded us all of how important it is to be a team and support each other. Thanks to this corporate event, we were convinced that at Paysera we do not just work together, we are on the same team. Non-selection for the Paralympic Marathon for Paris September 2024. Barriers can't keep this girl down. Down but not out.💪💪 Painful moments teaches us to be resilient. Last Monday, I found out I would not be nominated to the board of Paralympics Ireland for selection for the Paralympic Marathon. Even though I have met the qualifying criteria, in particular, having the HPS the high performance standard. There is lots that can be said about barriers that I have experienced, which will be said in due course. But for now I will focus on what has helped me this past week. What has helped ✔️Letting my emotions out - crying helps the soul. ✔️Getting outside. ✔️Music - Taylor Swift along with many others has been on replay. ✔️Food - eating favourite foods. ✔️Routine - Continuing my training. This week I got two key speed sessions done. I run 7 days a week and I won't be changing that anytime soon. I didn't get my long MP run done cos I was at the eye casualty on Friday. Instead I just did 5k. ✔️ Support - this has really helped - whether you have been a listening ear, sharing jokes to make me smile or telling me your experience of bias in sport has all helped. ✔️Self-care - getting hair and nails done. ✔️Perspective - I understand the bigger issues that exist. Alot can be said about entry and progression of new para athletes who meet the high performance standard. ✔️Writing out all the barriers and analysing them has been educating and frustrating. ✔️Goals - knowing there are lots of other goals to be completed - personal, professional and running goals. ✔️Focusing on past experiences where I encountered barriers and changed policy has helped give me energy. As I move forward I will reflect, refocus & recharge.

In an interview with BCUK, I shed light on a peculiar misconception. It seems that whenever a disabled person shows even the slightest hint of activity, people automatically assume they're aiming for the Paralympics. The frequency with which I've been asked, "Are you training for the Paralympics?" is nothing short of astonishing. Let's take a moment to flip the script. How often do we approach moderately active non-disabled individuals and ask, "So, are you training for the Olympics then?" Let me emphasise once more: being a Paralympian doesn't make you a "better" disabled person. Undoubtedly, striving to become one is a remarkable endeavour, requiring countless hours of training, discipline, and hard work. However, not everyone desires to pursue competition or turn training into a full-time job. Sometimes, individuals simply aim to improve their fitness levels and enhance their overall well-being. Contrary to popular belief, the Paralympics is no walk in the park. Both the Paralympics and the Olympics demand immense sacrifice and unwavering dedication. Yet, becoming a Paralympian doesn't automatically make someone a "better" or more "inspirational" disabled person. Let's acknowledge that the ability to move one's own body, regardless of adaptations, is an achievement in itself. At JAM we have six core values, one of which is "Chase the Vision" - and our Vision is to get "1 million people playing annually." Each year our full-time team gathers from around the world (we have teammates living in Toronto, Barrie, KW-Cambridge, Vancouver, Calgary, Michigan, France, Cyprus, India, and the Philippines) for a 2-day "JAMboree" where we work, celebrate and PLAY. The main point of JAMboree is to gather in person in order to strengthen connections and foster friendships among our team. So we always aim to ensure that any work we do at JAMboree has a playful angle. When we have friends at work we are more trusting of each other and more willing to be vulnerable and creative. At JAMboree in the fall of 2022, we hosted a "Sharktank Style" creative innovation session focused on chasing our vision of 1 million people playing. One of the Sharktank teams (led by Susan Lute), came up with the idea of having our very own proprietary "JAMnasiums" in a variety of locations, that would help us get more people playing. I am so excited to share that by integrating play into our work, our team's creative brainstorming idea with a focus on our vision has become a reality! We launched the first "JAMnasium" (officially called "JAM Sportsplex") this summer in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it is home to 4 indoor sports courts and 3 outdoor beach volleyball courts and helps get us one step closer to 1 million people playing annually.
