Contango Digital Assets is a crypto-native venture firm investing in companies that accelerate the global adoption of decentralized technology. It serves as a parent company of specialized business lines, including Contango Fund (a crypto VC fund), Vanta (a private community), and Contango Labs (a venture builder). Andreessen Horowitz, a prominent venture capital firm, has injected $100 million into EigenLayer, a crypto restaking startup, as revealed in a recent Bloomberg report.📋 EigenLayer's unique restaking model enables Ethereum stakers to maximise their yields by providing security to multiple projects within the network using the same ETH stake. The platform, founded by Sreeram Kanaan, gained significant traction this year 🤓, attracting attention from both individual and institutional digital asset users. Although EigenLayer operates on a points system for user engagement, there are currently no plans for the launch of a native EigenLayer token.🪙 The investment comes amid a shifting landscape for Andreessen Horowitz, known for its substantial backing of various crypto startups, raising $4.5 billion💰in funding for firms in 2022. After launching on Telegram, Pixelverse has raised another $2 million in funding According to a statement, shortly after launching a cryptocurrency game on Telegram, Pixelverse has raised an additional $2 million from venture capital firms and private investors. Galaxy Interactive, Crit Ventures and Arc Community, as well as individual investors known in the cryptocurrency world such as Alex Krueger, Luke Belmar, Mike Dudas and the alias Coco Bear participated in the fundraising, the statement said. "We are expanding into Pixelverse media and multiple product lines to ensure the long-term sustainability and profitability of our operations," Pixelverse co-founder and COO Corey Leon said in a statement. "This fundraiser will support our growth right before our TGE, which will take place this summer." To date, Pixelverse has raised $7.5 million. Other backers of the Web3 game project include Delphi Ventures, Merit Circle and Mechanism Capital. "Pixelverse's cyberpunk quest browser and Telegram games have registered over 70 million registered users and 13 million daily active users," the project also said in a statement. The developers of the young gaming ecosystem recently released PixelTap, a click-and-earn game that utilizes the TON blockchain and is accessible through the Telegram messaging app. Telegram clicker games Telegram clicker games that utilize the TON blockchain, where players can earn in-game rewards, have recently gained attention thanks to games like Hamster Kombat and Notcoin. Hamster Kombat claims to have over 250 million users, though that total probably includes an undetermined number of bots. The TON blockchain was originally called Telegram Open Network when the messaging app launched. Telegram, which is popular in the crypto community, is approaching 1 billion users.

Welcome to Chain Venturer, a series of intriguing conversations with crypto investors. For this week’s issue, we have Michael Tiew from LongHash Ventures. Michael is the Program Lead at LongHash Ventures’ accelerator program. Having previously worked in private equity and management consultant, Michael jumped into crypto in 2022. Since then, he has helped LongHash build out one of the most notable web3 accelerator programs in Asia. Here’s my conversation with Michael. -- If you only have 30 seconds, here are the quick takeaways: • LongHashX has run 10 cohorts, incubated ~75 projects, and helped these projects raise ~$150M in funding. • True “DeFi” with 100% decentralization won’t be successful, there will be different types of DeFi depending on the use cases. • Being too much in our own crypto bubble without understanding other industries will limit our understanding of products that consumers actually want. • Unique nuances in blockchain technology and the difference in user base in every jurisdiction would make a rocket internet model not as easily implementable in crypto. • In Asia, the fact that the regulators are willing to construct a helpful framework and still want to have the builders in the country signals a very positive momentum for crypto builders. #venturecapital #accelerator #web3 https://lnkd.in/gvYAFPFy
