Angola – a land of opportunity In this brief document, I want to introduce our international transit points (submarine Cable Landing Station) and their capacities. Angola has seen a strong rise towards the development and application of information technologies, and is embracing the inclusion of digital transformation in both the public and private sectors. The search for the best offers (cost-effective) of internet access products and services and corporate solutions (VPNs, Voice, and Interconnections) has grown significantly, there is a growing interest from consumers to use data, with more constant use of streaming services, cloud, video conference, and significant use of YouTube. Today, telecommunications service providers are facing major challenges in managing their limited capacity to serve the high-growth of access, millions of customers who need to explore the global network. There is a need to invest in broadband internet solutions that can provide the increasing of national traffic, which means also increasing the capacity of international traffic points, the highest data volume we can register is a key point wich confirm a evolution that society is seeking, the more data we consume the more information we are pursuing. Angola has four international traffic points (or Cable Land Stations-CLS) via submarine cables. According to the investment did in each of these CLS, we have participation to explore part of these cables capacities and create business opportunities for the national and international industry. #telecommunications #submarinecable #ictbusiness #globalconnectivity #serviceproviders #cdn #ixp #datacenter #enterprisesolutions #transit #ictsolutions #peering #mvno #business #5gtechnology

Lisbon is emerging as a crucial subsea cable hub due to its strategic location at the confluence of Europe, Africa, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean. The Portuguese government's support for new digital infrastructure projects has made Portugal one of the few countries with direct subsea cable connectivity to every populated continent. Recent and upcoming cable systems landing in Lisbon, such as Equiano and 2Africa, aim to stimulate digital growth in Africa. In addition, Lisbon plays a crucial role in driving digital growth in Latin America, with the EllaLink cable system reducing latency and improving connectivity across continents. In this blog, Managing Director for Equinix Portugal, Carlos Paulino, and Industry Expert Keith Shaw provide a comprehensive update on the region's expanding subsea cable capacity. #SubSeaCable #DigitalInfrastructure #DataCenter #Lisbon #Portugal #Equinix
