Nicolas and myself always dreamt of having a pole abroad for skeeled 🌍 Staying in Luxembourg only... not an option! Our initial thought was Barcelona 🇪🇸, where we studied together at EADA Business School. But hiring Portuguese engineers from the beginning, they told us about 3 amazing engineering universities in Porto 💡 🤔 We saw this as an opportunity and visited Porto 🇵🇹 That's when we discovered UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of University of Porto, a start-up station that offered offices and mentoring. We got a spot and it was exactly what we needed in terms of infrastructure and talent. The choice of having our R&D and engineering team in Porto helped us to develop the tool a lot faster and in greater quality than we could back home. Of course, opening a pole in Porto came with its difficulties: - Accounting - Different work culture - Paper work to open a local entity But it also taught us a lot: - A different work culture - New product features ideas - Managing people 1500km away Today, we still have the team in Porto and we couldn't be happier to be there with such great people 🔥 We are not in Uptec anymore as we have our own offices but what a stage to start it was. #odddayswithjon J and J Its not very common that you find a colleague with the same name as you. A few months after I joined my current team, I heard "Jonathan" being mentioned but the context was not aligned. Iit was then I realised I have a colleague with the same name, half way around the globe, in Paris. Jonathan, is Head of International Projects in Cegos. After a couple of online meetings, I find that this other Jonathan, have many qualities that I admire: 1. He was always smiling and candid in his sharing of information, but very succinct. 2. He was fast in coming up with solutions to help our teams in different countries, where there were different opinions. 3. He makes himself easily approachable to everyone. 4. He is definitely the better looking one =) So it was great to have a face to face catch up with Jonathan in Paris while on my personal trip. (He made time on his weekend for this catch up). In his absence, he also helped arranged his team to show me around our HQ. On my way there, he even video called me to "walk" me there (I entered the wrong building). Such is his nature. And these are positive small actions that make working as team so much enjoyable and joyful. I am grateful for this wonderful colleague! Do you have such a colleague in your team? 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗡𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 During our latest strategy meeting, we, the AlumNode Core Team, reflected on interactions and the feedback from our community. We've seen our efforts to create engaging spaces - through interactive online workshops, mix-and-match events, the AlumNode project funding, and our Summer Alumni Meeting - are well-received. ➡ We aim to create moments and platforms for team-building, knowledge-sharing, and making connections. 𝗕𝘂𝘁, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. Our community's needs are diverse - they span different countries, continents, and disciplines. That's why we are working on: ⬆ Expanding our virtual presence ⬆ Building up hubs ⬆ Improve our mentoring system... ...so the connection and engagement can occur regardless of geographical boundaries AND to make guidance and support to our members more accessible. 🌐 We are a global network. We're committed to ensuring that every member, no matter where they are, finds value and support in our ecosystem. The partnership is having its 4th META-COIN transnational project meeting in Fondazione ENGIM. The focus is "how to convey META-skills competencies" to our students and to employees in a multicultural working dimension? In the first day, the discussions were mixed with a visit to Engim Piemonte ETS Artigianelli Torino headquarters with some informal moments at #TeatroJuvarra and Circolo Amici della Magia di Torino. The afternoon was dedicated to an internal seminar which saw the presence of Ms Cristina Mereuta from #ETF (European Training Foundation) and Catia Pernigotto from Sviluppo Lavoro Italia who supported the discussion on competencies for the labour market and for life.. which is the best balance that we - as training provider - have to provide?

Meet Justina Juodgudyte-Smed, our graduate currently on rotation at KLS in Sweden, Communications and Sustainability. 🌟 🎈Justina's perspective on the program: This journey constantly surprises me with diverse learning opportunities about the company, personal growth, and future leadership. Through three training modules, we bond as graduates, sharing experiences, tackling challenges, and gaining fresh insights. ⭐Her current rotation: My current rotation is exciting and challenging at the same time. It is super exciting to see how KLS is operating, what challenges it has and how I can contribute, in terms of, sustainability and communication. On my current rotation, I get to communicate with different people in the organization and gather data, which we can use to create an internal dashboard to track our progress on key performance indicators and gaps here in KLS. 🙌Her KLS routine: My day usually starts with taking a bus to the office and saying ‘god morgon!’ to my colleagues, setting up my workspace and grabbing a cup of tea. During the day I get to work on my tasks, gather data, talk to relevant people, have meetings and from time to time I have my 1 to 1 with my line manager. On 1 to 1 we discuss further steps or challenges. Sometimes I need the data from people located in other locations, for example, production sites. Since it is quite easy to take a train, I travel to have a face-to-face meeting so we can brainstorm on the solutions together. We also have online monthly check-ins with 2022 graduate group. We have a kitchen where we can heat up our food, eat and talk together. If the weather is good we take a short walk after lunch, before we get back to our tasks. Sometimes we have Fika (some cake and coffee) in the kitchen and chat with our colleagues. After a day of work, I take a bus back home, to the centre of Lund and once a week I have Swedish language classes 😊
