Well it’s been about ten years since I last saw one of these👇👇👇 What you may ask? An eviction notice. This was delivered today. Follow along as I share this experience, the sides of the story and show you in real time a perspective on eviction we don’t hear. The one directly from the social warriors in the survival situation of life. Of trying to make a stand one day at a time to make life beyond today better. Often times the stories of those who fall through the cracks are presented by media and others who project the story in a political way. After the pieces have fallen apart. Well your going to see me put the pieces of this empowerment puzzle together. So hold on for the ride of your life as I give you the unfiltered perspective of me going through this again after having overcome it, after helping those in my community overcome it and studying it. Shine as a Parent Put your family along with your health at the top priority list. And few things are more important than being an extraordinary parent Here are some ideas to shine in the incredibly important role of parent: 1. Lead by example The best way to influence your kids is to walk the talk. Model the behavior you wish to see 2. Develop your children See yourself not just a parent to your children but as a "developer" of them. Actively develop their minds, hearts, and souls. Expose them to great art, introduce them to cool people who produce unique ideas, and take them to interesting places 3. Inspire your kids Try not to teach your fears to your kids. Introduce your children to what's possible. Inspire them to be great human beings who will elevate the world-in their own special way. Do  you think there’s value in community?   For a long time, aside from weekly church services, I didn’t understand the need for a community - a need for getting together with like-minded individuals to share ideas, stories and challenges. It all just seemed like a waste of my time. I couldn’t be more inaccurate. Besides making you a better communicator and providing professional development, community boosts our capacity to empathize with each other. According to @MasterClass, as you see others in your community face difficult times,  you tend to feel motivated to put yourself in their shoes to offer support. My most favorite aspect about community is learning that I am not the only one. Discovering a group of people who have similar experiences, challenges and goals makes me feel relatable, understood and seen. Wouldn’t it be cool for YOU to feel this way? My community: to know them is to love them - and I have grown professionally and developed so many opportunistic ideas just from our conversations alone. What’s your favorite aspect about community? And, if you’re not a part of one, I challenge you to find one! If you enjoy teaching, build a community of teachers…if you enjoy hiking or theater, go find a hiking or theater community! Having a support system at work, and personally, is so valuable, right? I think we all have a longing for community. To have that one person, or small group of people, we can turn to when we need inspiration, reassurance, or to be our sounding board. Someone to speak truth to us. As a leader of your team or in your team, you are pouring into those around you. You're balancing many responsibilities every day, as well as being there, helping solve problems, advocating, and developing others. Sometimes we need perspective, a reminder of all that we are doing that is good, that there is a solution for whatever we're facing. Who is pouring into you? Gain control over any project before you and be willing to make time for it. Give back to the community what you have. Multiply your small success to build something you treasure. Follow your words with actions. Our focus is to get back to childhood, our language should be full of actions which are strategically designed. Aim here is to occupy the mental space. Lets embrace great actions in the battle field. Some questions to ask as the business leader: 1. What are the practical ideas on how to get power? 2. How do I stay in power and protect one's power? We should have the desire to go beyond thought and take actions. Application Question: Share a time I handled conflict effectively. Conflict can be hidden beneath the surface, but it's how we deal with it that counts. In my career, I used to take pride in staying calm under pressure. But 3 years ago, I realized my childhood had prepared me for surviving toxic workplaces. My strength came from facing violence, preventable tragedies, and constant rejection as a child. This made me a perfect fit for Title 1 School Leadership, at least it seemed.
