Breaking Boundaries: Hospitality at Trade Shows
How many times have we, as event professionals, heard it? That familiar refrain when we propose exciting, innovative activations for trade show booths: “This isn’t how we do things. We’ve been following these tried-and-true methods for (x) amount of years and they work just fine.”
If I had a quarter for each time I’ve heard it, I’d retire today. But what if we flipped the script?
Industry disruptors know that innovation isn’t a buzzword; it’s a lifeline. Whether it’s interactive displays, experiential hospitality, or a puppy park (yes, you read that right!), you’re rewriting the playbook for engagement.
Of course, there is value to tried-and-true methods for activations.
But let’s talk about the spaces in between. The conversations over freshly prepared crepes and lattes, the shared laughter, the serendipitous encounters. That’s where lasting connections are born and business cards become partnerships.
Comfort zones are cozy, like a well-worn armchair. But let’s be honest: Growth doesn’t happen there. It happens when we step into the unknown when we challenge the tried-and-true.
Let’s rewrite the narrative. Let’s infuse every trade show with the spirit of possibility. When someone says, “That isn’t how we do things,” smile and say, “Watch me.” Because the value of innovation is priceless.
