Recently, our very own Kevin Sholander took us on an accessibility deep dive at the Fort Collins Internet Pros Meetup (FCIP). Kevin demonstrated how to: – test a non-accessible HTML pop-up widget – catalogue its shortcomings – rewrite it to make it compliant And we've got it all on tape.* 🙌 ► Watch Creating Accessible Web Components – A Developer’s Perspective, an FCIP recording. https://lnkd.in/geR7Yih7 *This recording does not yet have captions or a transcript. #webaccessibility #a11y #html

Knowledge and resources management Fast reviewing your bookmars and notes every month or few months is a foundation for knowledge and resources management. You don't make bookmars or notes except to revise it and recollect the information. Overflooding with resources without getting firm grounds is not beneficial and it's a useless rabit hole. You can't grasp everything or use everything, but you can decide for better and optimal solutions. Take at least one day monthly for this periodical revisions and at least 15 minutes daily to sort notes and resources. You can't remember it all, but you can manage properly. I personaly track everything manually with browsers bookmars, text file notes, folder structures, google keep notes and similar. In that way I have a better recollection and mind maping. I plan to migrate to some solution as LogSeq or Notion in the near feature. What is your favorite way to manage information? #knowledgemanagement #business #linkedin

🚀 Demystifying CORS for Web Developers 1. What is CORS? ◾ CORS, or Cross-Origin Resource Sharing, is a security feature for web browsers. ◾ It lets websites request and share resources with different origins. 2. How CORS Works: ◾ When a web page asks for resources from another origin, the browser checks with that server using an "Origin" header. ◾ The server responds with CORS headers, saying which origins are allowed to access its stuff. 3. Watch Out for These: a. Missing CORS Headers: ◾ Sometimes servers forget to include necessary CORS headers, which can cause issues. b. Too Open CORS Policies: ◾ Being too generous in allowing any origin to access resources can lead to potential problems. c. Be Careful with Credentials: ◾ Sending credentials without proper checks can open the door to unauthorized access. 🔒 Tips for a Secure Web: a. Set Smart CORS Policies: ◾ Configure servers to only allow the origins that really need access. b. Check Credentials Properly: ◾ Always validate credentials before letting cross-origin requests through. c. Keep an Eye Out: ◾ Regularly review and update your CORS settings to stay ahead of any risks. 📽️ Dive deeper into CORS with Rana Khalil's YouTube video: https://lnkd.in/gqnxQ_au Let's make web development security-friendly for everyone! 💻 #WebSecurity #CORS #developerlife
