They understand that our collective success is deeply intertwined with how well we collaborate and support one another. Less friction and politics mean more collaboration and faster progress. We actively discourage self-centric thinking and instead emphasize the greater goals we can achieve when we stand united. 📣 Career news klaxon 📣 I’ve been absolutely loving the self-employed life and the opportunity to work across different types of contracts and clients over the last six months. As part of that, I’ve been working with a long-term client and partner, Vicki DeBlasi, founder of Innovate Comms and I’m delighted to share that I will be formally joining her as the Client Services and Development Director for Innovate Comms on an ongoing basis. And because I’ve never been satisfied with a quiet life, I’ll still be running Marify and working on a contract basis to offer in-house and agency marketing consultancy where needed. To introduce Innovate Comms, however, we are a marketing collective with the promise of being as bold, creative and innovative in our work as tech innovators are in theirs. The thing that I most love about it - and what pried me away from the purely solo life - is that, uniquely, we’re not asking clients to pay us a retainer. We don’t think it’s the best use of money. We want to use our collective to help you when you really need the outside expertise, strategy and creativity to work with you to change things up. I honesty can’t stress enough how incredibly proud I am of our team here at  #TheMissionControl. They have embraced every challenge that has been presented to them over the past eight months as an opportunity to push their limits and consistently work beyond their comfort zones to create amazing pieces of work in what can be one of the most difficult spheres of #adverting, #branding, #marketing and #design. They’ve also managed to squeeze in D&AD training courses along the way with more in the pipeline as part of our Curious Minds initiative. Coming from a position of having been a creative myself, I know that it takes guts, determination and heart to do what they do. I love to see the bonds they form with the people they work with, both clients and vendors alike and the passion they bring to everything they do – not to mention the loyalty. That’s something that has struck me repeatedly as you see the team understanding and appreciating the challenges that the client or the vendor faces not just at the commercial level – but as a person. As a mum, dad, husband, wife, son or daughter. They get that everyone has things going on outside of work but that by ensuring work runs smoothly, life is always that little bit easier. Now – don’t get me wrong, we have a client list that has lots of life sciences companies on it, but when you ask our team who they are working with, it’s the people they know in the various marketing departments that they will namecheck. I guess that’s why I’m as proud of them as I am. They are all creative people working to create and deliver work that will impact and improve the health and wellbeing of millions of people.
