Negotiating Sponsorship deals doesn't have to be a zero sum game. Both sides of negotiating brand deals obviously want to maximize their value and minimize their risk. That being said, I think it's always important to remember there is people on both sides of the deal and we should strive towards making deals where both sides feel confident about the price. We have to stop underselling and overselling talents. We need to normalize having the open discussion of figuring out what each other's KPI's are and figuring out the best way to price it from there. Every campaign is different and one talent's rate for one campaign might not be the same for others. Thoughts?

If you are reaching out to potential sponsors, are you reaching out to the right person? If you are dealing with a small company you could be talking directly to an owner, however a large company may have an entire sponsorship and activation department. Getting to the right person first will get you an answer quicker.
