“90% of the new generation of art collectors don't believe that the art world is welcoming or inclusive. While most describe it positively as inspiring, thought-provoking, enriching, and innovative, they still have their concerns with the art world: 1 in 3 believe the art world is elitist 1 in 4 describe it as pretentious 1 in 5 believe it is intimidating" (Source: Avant Arte, "Collector Report 2024) 🤔 ✨ Embracing the Next Gen of Art Collectors: Without a doubt, it is time for the traditional art market and its participants to begin embracing the next generation of #artcollectors. However, it is also critical to truly understand the differences in their #values, #collectingmotivations, and #buyinghabits. 🔍This new generation is undoubtedly redefining the narrative surrounding #artcollecting. Motivations go beyond mere art appreciation or investment in the pursuit of true #connection and #impact. #Ownership takes on new and varied forms, and status is no longer a primary driving force. Instead, authenticity, personal #resonance, and #socialresponsibility have a significant impact on their collecting motivations. 💡💥In this dynamic environment, adaptation is key. So thank you 🙏 , Avant Arte, for providing such valuable information about today's new collectors, as well as this insightful #report👇, which will undoubtedly contribute to the #sustainability of our industry. 🎇 #nextgenartcollectors #artmarketresearch #report #collectorsperspective #futureofcollecting #knowyouraudience #innovation #artandtechnology #futureoftheartmarket

Think of the last time you visited a #museum. Can you recall any detail – like an artifact's place of discovery or the inspiration behind an artwork – about an item from your visit? This is one challenge our museum clients face: to not only create a beautiful visual experience, but an educational one. So, how can we elevate these stories so they connect with an audience? One answer lies in the magic of augmented reality. Principal and Global Cultural+Performing Arts Leader Dan Clevenger, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, gets into the details here: https://bit.ly/44ESLC4

Alan Bowness’s theory of circles suggests that recognition for modern artists occurs in concentric circles, with legitimacy initially established among peers and later by critics, the market, and the public. Artists’ trajectories involve accumulating recognition as they move from smaller to larger circles, driven by different legitimizing agents. The first circle, that of peers, consists of emerging contemporary artists – equals. The second, as per Bowness, includes art critics, encompassing curators and museum directors. The third involves the market, comprising collectors, gallery owners, and dealers, who, through commercial operations, elevate artists to the Olympus for the public—the largest concentric circle—to consecrate them (Bowness, 1989). #recognition #legitimation #contemporaryart #alanbowness #artists #phd #circles #kaws #consultancy #thepartners

The Chain Reaction in more detail
Time to finally start showing some of the actual pieces of art that make our Chain Reaction Project! In the spotlight today: our member Adela from Valencia, Spain. .. it all began with one idea, one work, one artist and over a two year period, our Chain Reaction created 100 works of art. Our 14-strong Collective from around the world collaborated online, allowing a sequential chain of works to be created, each one directly inspired by the one before. Our Chain Reaction premier show runs all through December 30 at @pearlcityclayhouse Pearl City Clay House, Jamestown New York! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eGtrVQK4 In addition to that, please view the ONLINE exhibition on our website, featuring a close up view ALL 100 artworks including all the personal stories behind each piece! It also includes the full video "The Making of Chain Reaction". ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gXnwA3kS Our Chain Reaction premier exhibit program is funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature; administered by Arts Services Inc. - ASI @asiwny #ChainReactionIOAC #InternationalOnlineArtCollective

Input is always chaotic. Output can be orderly. What you see in galleries, they’re the output. When you see the artist studios, they’re the input. Art is best appreciated when you talk to the artists and visit their studios. Art is least understood when you go to galleries and museums. To understand what is — always talk to the source. The source contains all the materials that’s removed to create the output. #sml2sml #io #smlresearch #smlphil #philosophy

I have selected this work for the offer "Behind the Masks of Utopian Joy", which will be held at Chili Art Gallery (13-15 Dimofontos Street, Thissio) from Thursday, 22 February to Saturday, 2 March 2024 and online via ARTgrid, for a month. I have four works to choose from. Two of them will be selected to be put on display during the exhibition. The works are available in 5 hand-signed prints on museum-quality materials. I'm very interested in the exhibition's theme: what's behind the overly optimistic masks. What do we use to mask or reveal our thoughts/feelings? 1. Grey Scarf 1.
