Remote vs. in-office work trends have been some of the most followed in our industry, with post-pandemic approaches seemingly irrespective of geography or industry - but is a consensus emerging? CBRE's consulting group has been tracking the office attendance requirements of 278 U.S. firms to see how these policies have changed in 2023 and the impacts they may have on talent retention and attraction. Check out these takeaways! -Most organizations have set a policy on attendance and expect people to work at the office 2-4 days per week -Variations exist in the attendance policy based on a company's industry, with those that are more equipment-dependent tending to require more days of in-office work -For 2023, fully remote companies have had an average turnover rate that is nearly 10 percentage points higher than companies in all other attendance categories -Fully remote companies may be at a light disadvantage in attracting new talent, with a median job posting duration 11-16% higher than companies with other attendance policies

CBRE Consulting just published a great piece on this which is worth the 5 minute read for those interested in the topic. A few of the highlights: 1) Most companies have set a policy on attendance and expect people to work at the office 2-4 days per week. 2) More companies are shifting to office-centric attendance policies, while the number of companies that are fully remote has consistently declined each quarter in 2023. 3) For all three quarters of 2023, fully remote companies have had an average turnover rate that is nearly 10 percentage points higher than companies with all other attendance policies. #commercialrealestate #tenantrep
