The City of Fremont’s minimum wage increased to $17.30 per hour beginning on July 1, 2024. Employers are required to pay at least the minimum wage for all hours worked to hourly employees who perform work within the geographic boundaries of the City of Fremont. Employers are also required to post the official City of Fremont Wage Bulletin in the top five languages spoken in the city in a conspicuous place at each work site. The Official Bulletins, including translated versions, are available for download on the City’s Minimum Wage webpage at https://lnkd.in/gEv_rFUm. To avoid a reduction in the valuable services they provide to the community, the minimum wage ordinance exempts employees of non-profit corporations. For questions, please contact us by email at minwage@fremont.gov.

A new mixed-use development project has been approved for Downtown Fremont at the corner of Paseo Padre Parkway and Capitol Avenue at 39039 Paseo Padre Parkway. Led by the Deccan Pacific Group, the eight-story mixed-use building will include 179 market-rate apartment units, 8,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space, and a parking garage. While economic conditions will determine the construction start date, the vision for this project is a major step forward for Downtown Fremont and the continued transformation of Capitol Avenue. The building is slated to feature pedestrian-oriented commercial space along Capitol Avenue, which will bring more activity to the area, increase economic vitality, and expand the range of goods and services offered to the community. The project will be located within walking distance of the Fremont BART Station and will help support the City’s overall housing goals. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting future project for Downtown!
