#michigan has made tremendous strides in their cannabis program over the past year+. Major efforts to clean up the bad actors. Transparency increasing all the time. The market prices reflect that. As do compliance stats. As does the attitude of the licensees, as covered (and linked in comments by Green Market Report, “Michigan Cannabis Business Owners have No Intention of Selling their Business.” There is hope behind those licensee statements. Sadly, that is not the case in many, if not most, state cannabis markets across the US. Michigan’s Cannabis Regultory Agency deserves someone both adequately qualified and well trained - who is also extremely collaborative in nature. It’s an important, licensee- facing role that serves the large number of cannabis licensees in the Michigan marketplace. Being a cannabis regulator is an enormous responsibility, regardless of the specific role. For the most part, this is new territory. It requires someone brave enough (or young enough) to look past the historical stigma and contemplate how to approach this from a health and safety product like any other food or consumer packaged good products. For cannabis regulators, there are serious legal implications to everything that is said and done. There are people’s livelihoods at stake with each decision that is made. But most importantly, there are human lives that have the potential to be harmed. We hear a lot about those missteps in the media. As the cannabis #healthandsafety organization, our founder, Lezli Engelking, frequently finds herself in the position of being somewhat critical about the decisions coming out of these young agencies. There is a saying we use internally that comes from the quality world that says “You can’t improve what you don’t measure.” At FOCUS, we added to that definition of quality to also include “You can’t improve what you don’t discuss.” Too often in cannabis, we see people who are more afraid of having a difficult conversation than they are of the oftentimes serious consequences that are the direct result of not having the talk . Which is why at FOCUS, we do our best to initiate discussions and share successes, as well as areas for improvement. Something great happening in your cannabis program? We want to know that too! We’d be honored to take part in spreading the word and contributing to #continuouslearning for the #cannabisindustry. DMs always open as is the webform. And go Michigan!! There is a way to do this well, and it #takesavillage to get there. But it first takes a willingness to do things differently. Thanks for being such a great example! Now can we call it cannabis in the law already? #FOCUS #focusstandards #hemp #whatisgood ##bettertogether #heretohelp

Hiring the wrong computer consultant can lead to wasted time, money, and frustration. Avoid these pitfalls by checking these key facts before hiring: • Customer Reviews: Speak with current and long-term clients. • Relevant Experience: Ensure they have experience with companies like yours. • Emergency Response Time: Look for a technician who responds within 1 hour or less. • Skill Level: Confirm that a senior technician will handle your project, not a junior newbie. • Budget Options: Avoid consultants who push a one-size-fits-all solution. • Timeliness: Verify their track record for meeting deadlines. • Fixed Price Quotes: Ensure they provide fixed price quotes to avoid unexpected fees. • Guarantees: Ask about any guarantees they offer. If you found these tips helpful and are considering hiring an outside consultant, reach out to us at https://lnkd.in/gUAKXb66 today. #computerconsultant #computerissues #computerconsultantpitfalls #computerbackup

"Hello Liana Robertson, This is Rita Whale from H-TEC Systems GmbH. Your resume posted on the Indeed job board was evaluated and we strongly believe you would be a valuable asset to our company performing Data Entry/Admin remotely with paid training. Reply if you are interested. Thank you - H-TEC Systems GmbH" Sounds great, been applying here and there, but this is an easy job I can do at home. The problem is... it's a scam. You must install Telegraph messaging and chat with (fake name here) to do an interview. The chat goes well, typical questions about what you think about the company (they use a real company) even showing you around the website, and miraculously, you are hired. The red flag... We will courier a check to you so you can buy our branded proprietary computers from one of our 107 vendors since the home office is in Germany. No reputable company would send me a check until they verified I could be an employee. Google to the rescue! I query for the company and some of the text I captured around the courier section and, viola, it's a total scam. They send you a check, you buy the computers and scanners required.. and boom, they take back the funds and now have your SSN, dob..all the PII you don't want to release. Next morning, I don't respond at 8am like I was directed and I didn't open the email from this person, so I get this lovely chat asking me how I slept, and did I get my I9 papers done. I say, well, no, the police said I should read this page and linked the scam warning pages. Immediately he stops chatting, deletes the chat (I copied it yesterday) and erases the fake user. Foiled for now, but I'll change all my passwords, just to be safe. Be careful out there.

It’s all in the details.
REMINDER! Details matter. I just finished qualifying a position for an engineering technician at one of our plants. The role requires a high level of accuracy in documentation and data integrity. One of the major red flags the manager outlined is resumes that have spelling and grammatical errors. The manager stated that he would reject a resume with such errors. The reasoning behind this decision is simple: if a person did not proofread their own resume, how could they be proficient at recording accurate data that could potentially cost the company a lot of money? I'm highlighting this because these are the things that hiring managers and decision-makers pay attention to. Furthermore, it's a simple fix—just click on "Review" in Microsoft Word and then click "Spelling and Grammar." :)
