When folks are considering third-party custom research, one of the most frequently asked questions is, “How much does it cost?” Due to the unique nature of custom research, there are a number of factors that go into price. High-quality resources often come with increased costs, which can contribute to the overall price of the research project and, the skilled research professionals come at a (well-worthy) premium. Get the full scoop on our blog where Lisa M. Sherwin Wulf (expert & founder of LSW Marketing) shares her perspective on the value of custom research services with us. Build a presence, plant seeds, and water them every now and then. The seeds will grow roots which will help you stay strong in your craft and be stable. Visibility is as important as the emphasis on it, as without it, you have no presence. #designcommunity #uiux #showyourwork #uxdesign #research #socialdesign #socialmedia

🎁 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁? (And why it can be useful for any e-commerce business...) Imagine this: you just bought a new sofa and suddenly you started questioning the layout of the entire living room. The walls need to be repainted, the rug doesn't quite match the sofa colour and what about that coffee table - it should be replaced with a different shape. 🎉 Congratulations - you've just become a victim of the Diderot effect: the phenomenon where obtaining a new possession often leads to a spiral of consumption. The story behind the Diderot effect originates from an essay written by the French philosopher Denis Diderot in 1769! Diderot recounts his experience of receiving a luxurious dressing gown as a gift - which then clashed with the rest of his modest belongings. So, he replaced his old furniture, artwork, and other items... Looking for harmony. However, this led to his massive discontentment and financial strain. We learned that there are 𝘿𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙩 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙨: things that 'go together' and could be purchased at the same time. In data science, we can use 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙪𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 to detect which products are most often bought together... Alternatively, consider which products/services complement your main star product. ...Or just remember this next time you decide to buy the new dress (and then earrings and shoes to match!) --- P.S. Feel free to REPOST if you find this post useful ♻️

Spent my morning with Evan Lovely talking about our plans for Knapsack in 2024. One of the most fun topics was the intersection of creating systems that scale to either 1. multiple brands or 2. highly diverse products. I've heard struggles with the complexity of getting a single design system to manage both of the above at scale. At some point, the system becomes a cockpit -- only people with special training and understanding can make sense of it. Further, everything but the "basic bits" feel too integrated into a single product experience. For example, it is hard to reuse a specific implementation of a complex pattern like a shopping cart. Systems often feel cluttered with dozens of patterns that different in their implementation but often have a lot of overlap in purpose. Our answer to this is intentionally introducing fragmentation to lower complexity. Your tools should be able to support a system-of-systems approach to give design systems practitioners the ability to create a common core that is then used in more specific implementations per-product or per-brand that allow for better extensibility and understanding (and overall, a lot less clutter). Pair that with the ability to create composable "recipes" using a common set of core components, and you have a system that can be easily understood, flexible to brands or products, and still retain many of the core benefits of a single design system. This is heady. We'll be writing a lot about it over the coming months, and we'll be providing some practical examples of how this works and why it should be the path for nearly every enterprise looking to scale the way they build product.

Am I the only one concerned about the impact of technology on our kids and our own ability to focus? Today, let's talk about the intriguing Von Restorff Effect in design! 🧠 🎨 👁️🗨️ The Von Restorff Effect, also known as the "isolation effect," is a fascinating psychological principle. It suggests that when an item is notably different from its surroundings, it's more likely to be noticed and remembered. This concept is a game-changer for designers! 🌟 When it comes to UI/UX and web design, applying the Von Restorff Effect can help you create a lasting impact. Make key elements stand out to guide users' attention and create memorable experiences. 💡 Remember, in a world full of digital noise, design that stands out is the key to success! 🚀 Let's keep pushing the boundaries of design in the digital realm. #Design #VonRestorffEffect #UXDesign #DigitalTransformation #DigitalBanking 💻📱🖌️
