Today, I concluded a three-week summer school program at LSE focused on Options, Futures, and Derivatives. While the course was more academic and less practical than I initially anticipated, it pushed me out of my comfort zone. Despite some struggles, towards the end I started to appreciate the mathematics behind these instruments.
Our class was relatively small compared to other LSE courses but was diverse in terms of knowledge. Half of the class had finance or business backgrounds, some students had math or physics backgrounds, and the rest were skilled professionals working at either central banks or investment banks.
Personally, I don't find London particularly special as a city. However, what makes it remarkable, in my opinion, is the concentration of financial knowledge available both academically and professionally. During these three weeks, I had numerous opportunities to network, and I am grateful for all the tips and advices I received. I am confident I can leverage this knowledge to secure a job in London in the near future.
Please excuse the last-minute picture below (I forgot to take one with the LSE sign).

4wCitadel Securities seeing that none of your student programs cover those only residing in Africa, it is quite disheartening. But I have a request. Since there exists no program currently for Africa, can I(alongside my friends) participate in the upcoming US Summer Invitational Datathon and Terminal competitions? Or will that be considered as a violation of terms and conditions? Thank you for your quick response in advance.
