The Rugby Worldcup has inspired me and teaches great life as well as business lessons 💡 🤩 What I've learned from Rugby after only watching three games and having no idea about the rules: 1️⃣ Teamwork makes the dreamwork and the most diverse teams have better chances to win. 2️⃣ Respect is a requirement. Showing respect to everyone on the pitch - your team mates, the other team and the referee - is not optional! 3️⃣ Resilience and recovery are key. Like in life, players are tackled heavily but push through. Complaining about pain is getting them nowhere, they get up and try all over again. Compared to other sports, they take longer breaks between games. Growing up in Germany, I'm a football girl through and through (lebenslang grün-weiß, SV Werder Bremen GmbH & Co KG aA 💚🤍). But I will cheat on football with rugby from now on. What have you learned from sports? #rugby #worldcup #halftime #semifinal #teamwork #respect #resilience #recovery #WeAreSinch #SinchEngage

A child's finger near a father perhaps says: "Look, what a big game!" Marcus Smith slotted it for a slim win in final seconds. Danny Care got 100 caps. The mother of England rugby captain Jamie George recently died. Ireland played as Ireland do - a team, attitude and ethos that speaks to 'the art of the possible'. Up there. All of them & beyond. Like Gareth Southgate on the 'round' rather than 'oval' ball front, they walk like us all with ghosts of things past with recast stories of what was, what is today and what could and might be tomorrow. Jonny Wilkinson talked in today's post-match chat amid this evolving Six Nations series of moments when one is "looking for inspiration in life" and how in the 'game' one is often defined in a moment. That is the world we are in. It’s only #rugby, only a game, only 80 minutes, only #sport. As a #kiwi who has lived on this island for more time than I have lived in Aotearoa I get why the business of sport in and beyond rugby plays into various key narratives and marketing initiatives so heavily and so heavily into the global business of business. Teamwork, focus, delivering to plan, going faster, growing & having a belief that runs up to and through the / our final whistle. What’s not to like? Sometimes sport goes beyond a game. Sometimes moments in sport are metaphors for lives. Sometimes what one wins is not as important as how, why and when one wins. Sometimes little moments have a power to change things. That can matter in your world, this world, our world. As always, there is a support team helping players come alive on and off the field. Remember the support. It matters. Life – is sometimes a game, a story, a moment. No LinkedIn ‘so what do you think about this?’ here … Just sharing a moment ... from a moment ... #teamwork #sport #motivation #life #ENGvIRE England Rugby Carpe Diem

Things that Matter. The New Zealand All Blacks are the most successful Rugby team of all time. They have a legacy that rivals the greatest teams in almost every other sport worldwide. How have they done this? By being tough of course. By being extremely talented obviously. But there is another element to their success that may seem counter intuitive; - They clean up after themselves. In his book 'Legacy', James Kerr portrays the team tidying up the locker room after a game: Sweeping the sheds Doing it properly So no one else has to. Because no one looks after the All Blacks They look after themselves. If we want ourselves or anyone – our children, families, businesses, to clean up after themselves, it helps to understand why it matters. If we want them to look after themselves, we must teach them to find pride and satisfaction in taking responsibility. If we want them to sweep the sheds we have to teach them – by example – that it’s not just a chore. It’s a statement of character, commitment, pride and self-sufficiency. It’s an illustration of who we are. “How we do anything is how we do everything” is one of the best lessons we can practise and teach. Leaving a mess isn’t just a mess – it shows that we’re a mess. From 'The Daily Dad' Ryan Holiday. Enjoy the rest of your week Kimbo

Want to build a winning team? This video is worth 10 minutes of your time. It talks about the Team Work Index (TMI). The higher your TMI, the more successful you are as a team and the more likely you are to WIN. TMI looks at the quantity and connections between your players. It looks at shared experiences, player combinations and the strength of the team’s systems. When you add more teams, you need to distribute the top talent between these teams to make each team more competitive (aka perform) which decreases the TMI and as a result doesn’t allow your team to WIN. Explains a lot as to why our beloved Wallabies are out of the Rugby World Cup. #teamwork #teamworkindex #winning

Helps leaders to start rituals of connections for remote and hybrid teams | Leadership, Performance and Wellbeing Facilitator/Coach | Speaker & Listener
Having the best players or having the best team are two different things. If you are following the current Rugby World Cup, you would have felt the painful underperformance by Australia. You see, when teams underperform it's mostly for a multitude of reasons. This 10 min video offers a hugely interesting data driven answer and focuses on a team cohesion measurement. In summary: The more often players had touchpoints of interacting and playing with each other, the higher the chances of winning. #TeamCohesion #TeamCollaboration #TeamConnection #RugbyWorldCup

Recently caught up with my rugby buddies at the 60th anniversary celebration of our beloved rugby club in the UK. Oh, the memories of the games we played! It was a nostalgic trip down the memory lane, but something dawned on me... I've become one of what we affectionately called the "Old Farts"! You know, those guys on the touchline who just can't help but critique every move, reminiscing about the good old days when things were apparently different. I guess I'm officially suffering from the "Old Fart Syndrome," and it seems there are no cures for it! But wait, what exactly is this "Old Fart Syndrome"? It's that special state of being where some of us are regarded as being set in our ways and, dare I say it, lacking a sense of humour. Now, I'd like to dispute that last part vehemently—I've still got my sense of humour intact! Picture this: Remember Victor Meldrew from the classic sitcom "One Foot in the Grave"? Now, there's a prime example of an old fart! With his constant grumbling and hilarious misadventures, he reminds us that even the most curmudgeonly among us can provide endless entertainment. Yes, it's true that us old farts tend to be a bit grumpy and stick to our tried-and-true routines. Change can feel like our sworn enemy, but hey, we can't help but chuckle at our steadfast determination to keep things just the way we like them. And let's talk about stereotypes! Old farts are often associated with an uncanny ability to complain about almost anything. We've mastered the art of finding fault in the most unexpected places. But hey, we can't help but find our own quirks endearing in our own grumpy way. But here's the secret sauce: As self-proclaimed old farts, we need to learn to laugh at ourselves. When we catch ourselves in the act, it's the perfect opportunity to embrace the absurdity of it all and have a good old chuckle. Life is too short to take ourselves too seriously, especially when we find ourselves slipping into full-on old fart mode! So, here's to the old farts among us! May we learn to see the humour in our own quirks and embrace the joy that comes with being delightfully set in our ways. Let's keep laughing, complaining, and navigating life's surprises with a twinkle in our eyes and a cheeky grin on our faces! #toys #toypeople #toyindustry ---------------------- 🔺 I am Thierry. 🔺Helping your toys or stationery company develop international sales. 🔺My team and I help you to source in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and India. 🔝 Connect with me

So yesterday, was the first pre-season fixture for Haslemere Community Rugby Club v OVERTON RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB LIMITED. I proudly represented Hampshire Rugby Referees still sponsored by my own company Protect and Prepare Ltd. On arrival, only half the pitch had been cut (as you can see). The club staff couldn’t fire up the kitchen properly and yet both the visitors and home team, took it all in their stride - the sense of ‘community’ palpable. Our sports Values remained on show for all to see from start to finish - Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline & Sportsmanship - even with both teams attempting to embrace the ‘ever-popular’ domestic law variations around tackle-height imposed by England Rugby at community level only🤷♂️. With two red cards for England in as many matches - with the questionable and floored way the RFU are determining our national financial structure at all levels within our sport and with the initial roll-out of the Domestic Law Variations being such a train crash - I wondered whether a total overhaul was needed? Seems to me that Grass Root clubs are doing their level best to underpin our sport - sticking tightly with our increasingly important core values in spite of the RFU and not because of it…. Rugby’s core values tie in with the values of my old mob - the Royal Marines of excellence, integrity, self-discipline & humility. They also resonate with the Commando quatlities - of courage, determination, unselfishness & cheerfulness in the face of adversity. It’s these reasons many parents get their youngsters involved in rugby from a young age - Values actually mean something - they’re not just words!!! England Rugby - Stick with our Values in all you do and at every level….only good can come of it!!!

Bums on a rugby post. Today I am back in the training room with a great team discussing all things Customer Service. This is one of my slides. It may look like bums on a rugby post, but this serves as a reminder of something very important when dealing with communication. Any ideas? Have you seen this before? #learninganddevelopment #talentmanagement #peopledevelopment

me and my team delivered 3 rugby be sessions and our goal was to make it so by the end everyone understood how to throw the ball as-well as play the game. First session we did we was an introduction to passing. We taught the basics of of how to throw a rugby. second session we made it more difficult by make them do it faster to try and improve there throwing skills. third session unfortunately we could not put in a game of rugby because we restricted to inside but we ran a session of footy island using rugby passing so that they incorporated what they learn in the previous lessons. All these lessons included a warm up witch included ether passing or dynamic, stretching or warmup game also a cool down at the end that was ether a cold down game or stretching why doing these sessions i learned how important it is to plan your sessions to a tee and even plan more just in case you didn’t have enough as-well as have a loud and clear voice to make sure everyone understands you

Rugby – Who Do We Think We Are? With so much focus on rugby in the coming weeks it’s good to remind ourselves of where fans hail from in Ireland. To listen to a lot of media commentary, it would appear that Dublin is the bastion of the game. However, that’s wrong. In fact, engagement with rugby (as a hobby, club member or supporter) is much stronger outside of Dublin (36% Dublin v 48% Country). That’s according to a new piece of research titled “Who Do We Think We Are?” commissioned by IRS+ and conducted by @Empathy Research. No one has looked at this area before properly and now IRS+ have evidence that shows that Dubliners and people from the country are NOT the same. The findings cast an entirely new light about what Dubliners and people from the rest of the Country REALLY think of one another. Are the Myths true? Do they stack up against the facts? Or is it all just caricature and lazy stereotypes? Examining attitudes from Rugby and GAA to Spending and Social Media habits, some of the results confirm long held views but are more likely to explode myths (and show how, sometimes, we’re surprisingly similar). However, differences remain, and they’re fascinating. The topic was certainly a popular talking point in the tabloids and radio stations in Dublin and throughout the country. Just as an FYI - the online poll of 1,343 adults, 18+ has a margin of error of +/- 3%. To learn more about the findings click here: http://irsplus.ie/insight/ #rugby #ireland #rwc2023
