Throughout July, Hofbräuhaus is donating proceeds from pretzel sales to benefit Cincinnati Children's Canine Comfort Facility Dog Program. This program provides vital emotional and physical support to patients and families, helping them through challenging times. Our facility dogs, alongside their handlers, work tirelessly to achieve personalized treatment goals with patients. So it's just a pumpkin contest, right? Nope. It starts as a team-building exercise where we all have fun and do not talk about insurance for a bit. Then it becomes office banter, where each tease each other about who will win the contest. Again, sometimes it's the little things that bond and help create foundations. Yes, it is also a marketing program for the agency with more than 600 voters! Finally, it's not only a full year of bragging rights for the winner but it is an opportunity to make a charitable donation to a charitable cause. So, no. It is not just a pumpkin contest. And the winner is... Jack Skellington created by Taylor! Taylor has chosen the winning donation to go to Save A Dog in Sudbury, MA. Save A Dog is a holistic humane society whose primary focus is rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs. Founded in 1999 by a husband and wife team, they have since rehomed over 5,000 dogs including Taylor's own puppy Sadie! What is the value of ”Take Your Daughter to Work Day? We think it is education and empathy, so the child knows what the parent does daily, but it is so much more. It instills lifelong work values. Meahgan Gibson attended a “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. To this day she reminds me of a few choice words I stated during a staff meeting but she also pursued a career in Leisure and Hospitality. More importantly she picked up values like; everybody is critical to success (especially the lowest paid hourly associates), every person has a story, treat people with dignity and respect, and if they have a name tag, user their name. Grow by trying new things that others shy away from. Powerful words are “thank you” and “can you help me”, and assisting others even if you do not have time. Today this was in my feed. I had no idea she was working on this. Biscuits and socks, who knew? But more importantly, a young professional (from a generation many professionals belittle) leading a project that reflects well on the brand and does good for the community. Also hats off to Dennis Pfaff, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Cracker Barrel for creating an organization culture where young professional growth occurs. Take your daughter to work and as a leader, your relationships matter more than you know. #cio #leadership

Health, supporting their incredible work to maximize the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation. This is particularly meaningful because giving back has always been a big part of who I am. From working with the Miami Children's Initiative during my time at the University of Florida to my work with the Harrison County Community Foundation, I've seen firsthand the impact we can make when we come together. This initiative to donate breakfast items to FareShare UK in partnership with Arla Foods UK is commendable and addresses a crucial need for vulnerable and disadvantaged populations. However, it's important to critically examine the impact of such donations in the broader context of addressing food insecurity. While immediate relief is provided, long-term solutions to systemic issues of poverty and inequality should also be considered. Additionally, assessing the sustainability and scalability of such partnerships is essential to ensure lasting impact beyond the immediate donation.
We're really proud to have partnered with Arla Foods UK to donate the equivalent of 1.25 million breakfasts to FareShare UK 🥣 The donation of Shreddies and Cravendale milk will help to build breakfasts for organisations that support vulnerable and disadvantaged people. The dedicated team at our Staverton factory made this donation possible, producing additional stock to enable us to make a positive difference to the lives of thousands of families across the UK. Thank you to everyone involved for their invaluable work!
