Last week, our annual SAP Cup brought together 90 teams from across the company. It's such a special event that reflects not only the many nationalities represented by our colleagues but also the true spirit of sport, showcasing that you can only ever win if you work together as a team. Congratulations to all winning teams, and thank you to everyone who participated in the event – despite the German summer not necessarily playing along! #LifeAtSAP

Just heading home after an incredible week in Southeast Asia visiting employees, partners, and customers across the region. We spoke about the enormous potential #AI offers companies here to be even more competitive on a global scale, helping them grow and #globalize their business, increase #productivity and supply chain resilience, and last but definitely not least, become more #sustainable. SAP and the fantastic team here in the region are proud to support our customers on this journey and I’m already looking forward to coming back soon. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this trip such a great experience!

June 28 marks the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in 1969, a pivotal moment for human rights. When we celebrate #Pride month, we celebrate the achievements that have been made in the 55 years since that day and the people who made them possible. But just as we recognize that progress, it’s also important to reflect on the journey we have still to make and the many ways we can all contribute to a world that advances equality for the LGBTQIA+ community and embraces diversity and inclusion. Everyone deserves the right to live authentically and proudly.   #PrideMonth #Ally

Over recent years, the importance of #sustainability to businesses and their stakeholders has risen significantly. Accurately recording ESG metrics has become key to improving both the top and the bottom line and winning and retaining customers, employees, and investors.   But as new and updated regional and national regulations are introduced, businesses must continuously adapt if they want to remain compliant. In the coming weeks, for example, EU member states are required to reflect the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive in their national regulations to help standardize sustainability reporting. And later this year, the Regulation on Deforestation-free products will require transparency and traceability across global supply chains to guarantee the products EU citizens consume do not contribute to deforestation worldwide.   Meeting these obligations requires a reliable foundation for ESG data management and reporting to help collect, share, and integrate ESG data both within individual companies and across supply chains. The Sustainability team at SAP are leading the way with data-driven solutions that are ERP centric, cloud based, and AI enabled, a fact that has most recently been reflected in the naming of SAP as a leader in the first-ever IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Carbon Accounting and Management Applications 2024 Vendor Assessment. Congratulations to the entire team for this latest recognition and on your work to enable a future with zero emissions, zero waste, and zero inequality. 

In addition to some great customer meetings in Sweden today, I had the chance to visit our local office and spend some time with our colleagues, learning a lot about Swedish traditions such as the celebration of midsummer. Having grown up reading Astrid Lindgren’s books, I've always had fond memories of Sweden, and it was great to be there in person today. Wishing everyone a ‘Glad Midsommar’!

Over the past weeks, we’ve had many very exciting announcements, one of which is our intent to acquire WalkMe™, a leader in digital adoption platforms.    I had the chance to catch up with Dan Adika, CEO of WalkMe, in Barcelona. I often say that applications, processes, data, and people are the four key elements of a successful #BusinessTransformation. With WalkMe, we are doubling down on the support we provide our end users, helping them quickly adopt new solutions and features to get the maximum value out of their IT investments. 

Our central showcase at this year’s #SAPSapphire events in Orlando and Barcelona demonstrated how companies can thrive in times of rapid and unpredictable change. Visitors could explore how companies can bring out their connectivity, resilience, efficiency, and agility using microchips and the high-tech industry as an example. Huge thanks to the entire team for putting together such a great showcase. 

We wrapped up the first day of #SAPSapphire in Barcelona, and in all my meetings with customers, partners, investors, and media, it’s clearer than ever that #AI is top of mind for everyone. And we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead! Joule, our GenAI copilot, will become our new front-end, turning words into action to become the biggest productivity engine for every SAP end user. We’re rolling it out across our portfolio, and by the end of this year, 80% of the tasks most frequently used by our users will be infused by Joule. We are also infusing AI capabilities directly into our customers’ business processes and workflows with pretrained, embedded #GenerativeAI use cases that can be consumed out of the box. Today, SAP already offers over 50+ embedded AI use cases, a number we plan to double by the end of this year.    But we also recognize that every customer is unique and so are their requirements. That’s why we also offer our customers and partners the option to create customized AI use cases through SAP’s GenAI Hub.     There’s no doubt that AI is a very powerful technology with huge opportunities for businesses and their employees and we are excited to be on this journey with our customers.     A big #ThankYou to everyone joining us in Barcelona, all of our guest speakers, and to the entire team who have put this incredible event together. 

What an incredible week! #SAPSapphire is always a unique opportunity for the entire SAP ecosystem to come together and learn from each other. This year is all about turning the hype around #GenerativeAI into reality, and we can confidently say we are right on track.    A huge #ThankYou to everyone who joined us, both live and online, and to the entire team who put this incredible event together!
