What do you know about Person-Centered Care? To me, person-centered care means advocacy. It means options and empowerment. It means: Tools like Therapprove to select the right physical therapist for your child. Passionate patient advocates like Lori Schellenberg and Ashely Oaks BSN, RN, helping you navigate the complex health system. It means involving regional organizations like CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions and home care services like Altra Homecare Group to make sure you're cared for well at home. And of course, smart solutions like Primary Record to store the medical data from the above services and help them communicate amongst the care team. To me, person-centered care lives far outside of the four walls of the hospital. It means involving small businesses and your local community resources to help. This is where I see the most hope and innovation in health care today. Kudos to all of you taking the plunge to improve lives in the name of person-centered care. #personcenteredcare #patientcenteredcare #patientaccess

Shared custody parents, how do you keep track of medical records for your kids? How do you share info with the other parent after a visit? Worst case, if your kid lands in an ER, how do you make sure all of the relevant details are known and kept track of? I'd imagine most use some combination of a file of papers and patient portals. You have to have something right? School physicals for sports, vaccination records for schools, history of medications, illnesses, injuries... In honor of recent Fathers Day, I'd like to call out a dad friend who uses Primary Record to keep track and share his kids medical info with his ex-wife, their mother. They both have the info now and they both have the updates from visits live, as they're inputted or pulled by the other party. So, what's your situation? When your kid gets sick, how do you make sure everyone knows the ballgame? #parenting #adulting #kidsrock #HappyFathersDay #interoperability

Hey Ascension, let's talk. Since the cyberattack I've seen a lot of your patients in my ER. Your physicians have sent a lot of your patients to my ER. These are super complex patients with multiple providers in your network, but none of them can talk because your EMR doesn't work. Worse yet, patients know nothing about what happened (and can't share what happened) because their portals don't work. Primary Record isn't claiming to be a panacea for the awful problems you're up against, but we could definitely help the information flow better than not at all. We're healthcare folks too, we speak that language and we're in it to help your patients. We're already helping some of them. DM me. #cyberattack #patientaccess #FHIR #interoperability

Do you see value in accessing/storing your own medical data? Not too long ago, Jean showed me some twitter-famous VC-adjacent guy who posted about how bad of an idea it was to start a business like Primary Record. He didn't say our name, but rather laid out that empowering patients/families to gather their health information in one place was worthless and it's laughable anyone is trying. The other 30-year old VC folks piled on. Absent in the piling-on: anyone with front-line healthcare experience. When we were raising money in the summer/fall, we were told the same thing from a handful of investors. Patients/families don't want to control their own data. So, back to the question for the masses. Do you see value in accessing/storing medical data for yourself/your family? What value do you see in it? Pictured below: ChatGPT Ai Midjourney's idea of "Who actually wants to be able to access their own health data?" I guess it's this lady. She looks pretty cool, so I'm down with that. #patientaccess #primaryrecord #empowerment

Busy, busy, busy first day with Jim at our Primary Record at the Venture Club of Indiana, Inc. Innovation Conference. Jim hurt his leg saving a baby from a shark attack this morning, but we didn't let that keep us down. When we weren't listening to pitches or pitching ourselves, we were busy at our table talking with other awesome startups solving cool problems, investors, and people living the problem we're solving.
