These dynamic areas, located on the periphery of urban cores, offer a vibrant mix of commercial, residential, and entertainment spaces. 🚲 Would you like to get all the way to your office door, perhaps on the 5th floor, without ever getting off your #bike? This innovative coworking space located in Bentonville (Arkansas - USA) is connected to a regional network of bicycle and mountain bike paths that converge in a park right behind the Ledger building. 🏢 The cycle ramp starts at the back side of the rectangular building, facing the park, and wraps around its street façade, where it zigzags up to the fifth floor with a manageable gradient of 5%. Outside, there are terraces and communal spaces that can be used by all citizens. 🏙 The main objective was to build a private space that fits seamlessly into the public space, creating a blend that allows the community to "inhabit" this space while also participating in public events and taking advantage of the services offered.  A fine example of integration and #accessibility. #sustainability

Happy Earth Month! #EarthDay was created to help protect human health and the environment. To date, so many towers, both residential and commercial, have been developed with insufficient input from not just the local community, but all the various stakeholders that are deeply affected by the development. How do you create a space for all? When it comes to successfully repurposing office towers an inclusive process that involves all key stakeholders - leading to outcomes that benefit all, not just a select few will be the new ideal moving forward. Office towers must be places for all, not just working and retail spaces, the new towers must be places where all are welcome and that accommodate a number of uses and different types of people. Transforming buildings into a multi-stakeholder concept through a community driven approach 💡 For me this article from FRAME once again shows an amazing example of how a multi-stakeholder model brings more value to the building, but foremost to the people living, working and experiencing in it. What I take away from this article is: 🤔 - Modular spaces increase building utilization - Planning along human needs brings value - Hospitality creates experiences, increasing profitability - Organic and nature-inspired design increase interactions - Inclusive community concepts create identification More often we should leave our "mental frames" when talking about real estate, to create unique concepts worth investing in.
