When I am working later in the office, the lady who is our janitor often will come into my office to grab the trash can. We are beating each other to get up to grab the trash can. We smile, I offer her Lindsor chocolates. She does not know I come from a family who owned a trash business. My grandad and dad collected trash. I collected trash at our church. Watch how you treat people. I was taught to be kind to the Custodial staff just as you are kind to the CEO!! Teach your children too! #bekind
I remember distinctly when you shared this type of message at BAH. I was swooning because it was the first time I had heard a leader say the words that I deeply believed and acted on. To have you share your experience with others allowed them to put themselves in your shoes and learn to lead with love. Thank you for who you are and the influence you have made on many! We are all better for it!
I’ve never known you not to treat someone well. But go home earlier Chimissa!!
Amen! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼🥰
I live by this philosophy!!
100%
Well said, Chimisa. I absolutely agree with your sentiments! Being kind can take you a long way in this world and leave a lasting impression on someone else.
Kindness is free and invaluable! Great post!
Never forget your roots!

2wGreat message, Chimisa. It reminds me of why I appreciate your leadership style! This is a lesson that people often discover on their own. For me, it was one of my first jobs as a teenager at a restaurant where I washed dishes and mopped floors. When it was time for each of my sons to get their first job, they each started as dishwashers at restaurants. There, they learned to take pride in hard work and long hours and understood that every role is important in the business. So, always be kind!
