March 30 is National Doctors’ Day, an annual observance honoring the skill and commitment of physicians nationwide who provide high-quality healthcare to the patients and communities they serve. The date chosen marks the first time a physician used an anesthetic during surgery in 1842, but the recognition more broadly celebrates the contributions of physicians in their pivotal role of safeguarding and improving the well-being of patients.
