PR for B2B Clients | I'm a public relations consultant and writer who works with clients to create content, earn media coverage for their brands, and position them as thought leaders in their industry
If you’re hiring PR help, be sure to ask if they handle ALL the work themselves. You want full transparency. If they outsource, you want to know. This came in an email today from a company that does work FOR public relations agencies, who I guess don't want to do (or are unable to do) the work themselves? 🤷♀️ Note: I NEVER outsource work - when you hire me, you work with me. #PRTips #publicrelations #PRconsultant #freelancePR

As much as I’d like to say “looks like a great job!”, this kind of post makes my blood boil. Just from this brief paragraph, this role needs to be divided into at least two, if not three different positions. Social media management is a full-time job. Email marketing is a full-time job. Content creation - when done right and effectively - is a full time job. More employers need to recognize that the “and other duties as required” part of job descriptions needs to go if they want to keep employees from burning out and turning over.
We're currently hiring for someone to join our Communications teams as a Digital Communications Specialist. We're looking for someone who will handle all aspects of digital communications, including social media management, content creation, copywriting for a diverse audience, graphic design, email communications, website management, and others. We're looking for a creative individual who can help us tell our story. This posting closes on September 12. https://lnkd.in/daKUFj62

From our point of view - and this is what we hear from the industry: Retaining key talent, hiring mid-level staff (that's what we hear from PR agencies who employ people - we only work with PR -Pros, but freelancers), clients willing to commit sufficient funds- therefore, renting PR & Communications Advisory is a good alternative, as it offers much more flexibility for clients; and last but not least one of the challenges is also the effective measurement of the impact of PR (it does not depend on the number of media articles which have been published)

Hiring Managers What distinguishes a public relations officer from a communications officer? The majority of positions for communications officers don't appear to make it obvious what the differences are between the two. (my opinion) While there can be overlap, a Public Relations (PR) officer typically focuses on managing an organisation's reputation, building relationships with the public, and handling crisis communication. On the other hand, a Communications Officer may have a broader role, encompassing internal and external communication strategies, including messaging, media relations, and content creation. PR often emphasizes external perception, whereas communications may involve a wider range of information dissemination within and outside the organization.

What Is Public Relations (PR)? Public relations (PR) is the set of techniques and strategies related to managing how information about an individual or company are disseminated to the public, and especially the media. Its primary goals is to disseminate important company news or events, maintain a brand image, and put a positive spin on negative events to minimize their fallout. PR may occur in the form of a company press release, news conference, and interviews with journalists, social media posting, or other venues.

Public Relations vs. Other Departments Public relations may overlap or be confused with other similar departments. Here's an overview how PR may or may not relate to marketing, advertising, or communications. Public Relations vs. Communications Public relations and communications are heavily intertwined. Both involve portraying information outwardly in hopes of creating a brand, image, or relationship that fosters value. Communications may be a separate department within a company solely responsible for written or verbal comments issued internally or externally. One potential difference between public relations and communications is the exchange of information. Sometimes, public relations is a one-way channel that imposes information in an attempt to have a more favorable public image. Communications may be more rooted in the two-way functionality of receiving feedback and making changes based on information collected. In general, most companies will see overlap between public relations and communications.

*Public relations (PR)* refers to managing how others see and feel about a person, brand, or company. *PR for corporations* , notably publicly traded companies, focuses on maintaining a positive corporate image while handling media requests and shareholder inquiries. PR is especially important to defray public or investor outcry following negative news announcements. PR is different from advertising or marketing, as it’s often meant to look organic and may not necessarily try to promote a product or service. *Public relations* can be used to mitigate negative events, though history has shown PR may cause problems to become worse.
