I recently watched a video questioning the logic of 3-4 interview rounds. It got me thinking: while thoroughness is crucial, are we pushing candidates to the brink of burnout? On the one hand, I can see the potential benefits of having a multi-round interview process: 💡 More comprehensive assessment 💡 Deeper insights 💡 Reduced risk of hiring mistakes 💡 Gather Diverse perspectives 💡 Miminize Bias From the candidate's perspective: 💡Exhaustion and discouragement 💡Loss of trust 💡Poor candidate experience I suggest the following considerations: 1) Targeted interviews: Tailor each interview to assess specific skills and fit for the role. This allows us to gather relevant information without overloading the candidate. 2) Balanced assessment: Use a mix of interview styles (behavioral, technical, panel) to get a well-rounded picture. 3) Work sample/case studies: Incorporate practical assessments to gauge real-world abilities and problem-solving skills. 4) Prioritize candidate experience: Ensure clear communication, timely feedback, and respect for their time.
