This was a great conversation with my colleagues from the CAGBC | Canada Green Building Council with the Honourable Anita Anand and the Treasury Board. If you want a green economy we need to buy green products - and to do that we need to find ways to add carbon and circularity as an important component of decision making. And ask suppliers to compete with good data. I suggested that the Treasury Board should be even more aggressive and faster - the #Cement industry is up to the challenge! At Lafarge Canada we are already selling concrete at 30% below the historic industry average.

One of the greatest challenges facing the UK is how we achieve energy efficiency and low carbon improvements in our housing stock at scale, while assuring quality and driving standards across the industry. Fast forward to today and there are now 2,000 UK B Corps! How to Make a Genuine Difference to – People, Planet and Profit With the plethora of green and people-oriented initiatives out there, it’s no wonder some of them are green or ‘happy’ washing. Paying lip service to making a difference, but not actually making a difference. Being in compliance for good, Risk Evolves were keen to find a standard that genuinely signified that an organisation worked to the benefit of the planet and people, whilst also managing to be a functioning, profitable business.
