Have you ever wondered what it takes for women to thrive in a male-dominated industry? I’ll give you a hint…🤫 It’s not easy. But it IS possible. Last night was truly inspiring as I had the honor of moderating the inaugural CSCMP - Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals - Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Chicago chapter event, "Women Empowering Women," on the eve of National Logistics Day! 🚚📦🤖🦾 Our panel featured amazing stories from Amber Romando, Nicole Glenn, Shannan Newsome, Kimberly Barr, Kary Jablonski, and Lindsey Martinez, each sharing their experiences on navigating the supply chain as women leaders. I am incredibly proud to work in logistics with these phenomenal women. Their dedication, resilience, and leadership inspire me every day. Some better recognition of equity and inclusion, in the Supply Chain world there should be no gender bias,, As I have worked with and encountered incredible , visionary leaders in my experience and they were from all genders, walks of life etc., We need groups like the one you reference to continue to be advocates and expert visible voices to continue the evolution from current reality to "new ideal!!! Viva "The Champions !!!

A recent published report by Grant Thornton shows that women’s parity in senior management won’t be reached until 2053 at the current rate. Three key actions can help accelerate gender diversity in senior management positions.

We have been delivering insights on Women in Business for 20 years now. When Grant Thornton first began its research, just 19.4% of senior management roles were held by women in the mid-market. Today, that figure stands at 33.5%. While this is progress, it is disappointingly slow. On this International Women's Day, it's imperative that we reflect on the actions we all need to take, to get more women into senior management. Sustainable change takes intentional effort and clear accountability from leadership at every organisation.
