💸 Buying new furniture can be quite the expense. 😉 The good news is, however, that you can replace your old, worn-out furniture with new and vibrant pieces without breaking the bank. 👇 Here are six ways to get great furniture at a great price. 1. Browse craigslist and/or freecycle The trick to craigslist shopping is to browse higher-end areas to ensure you find higher-end pieces. Just make sure any cleaning or repairs don’t exceed your good deal. 2. Diy your current furniture If you’re the handy or crafty type, you may want to consider reupholstering or refinishing your current furniture to make it appear brand new. 3. Look for yard sales, estate sales, and garage sales Yard sales, estate sales, and garage sales are excellent places to find unique furnishings you may not have considered before. 4. Going-out-of-business sales If you’ve got some wiggle room, wait for going-out-of-business sales to get the best deals on new furniture. 5. Shop thrift stores With just a little attention, you could end up with a wonderful piece of furniture at a bargain price. 6. Look for clearance and discount sections Your local furniture store may have a clearance section where they sell last year’s models or pieces with slight imperfections such as scuffs or dents at rock-bottom prices. With our Transportation Insight office near a major U.S. furniture hub in High Point, North Carolina, we have a longstanding track record of managing home furnishing transportation and the special attention it requires. Our own Marcus Houston, SVP of Client Growth & Strategy, sat down with Dwell to talk about the evolution of shipping furniture — particularly around how sofas are shipped today. "Fifteen years ago, you had to ship that on a furniture carrier, because when they finished the sofa, at a facility in Mississippi or North Carolina or something like that, they only trusted a furniture carrier to know how to blanket-wrap it, set it on there, and then they’re gonna move it throughout the country that way," says Houston. Today, there are more options and many transportation providers (like TI and Nolan Transportation Group (NTG)) that can help give the transportation attention furniture requires, while maintaining visibility and helping to manage the process. It was a really fun conversation with Dan. There are still really good sofas out there. Just like there are ways (from a shipping perspective) to get these sofas faster and at a better price point than what was “industry standard” a decade ago. We help customers in the home furnishings vertical accomplish this daily. I would love a chance to talk with you if this sparked any interest or thought within your Supply Chain operations. #TransportationInsight #3pl #Furniture #FurnitureLogistics

Are you facing the age-old question of whether to go custom-built or opt for ready-made furniture? It's a dilemma many of us encounter when furnishing our homes. Custom pieces offer the perfect fit, tailored to your space, but they can come with a hefty price tag, and changing them later can be challenging. On the other hand, ready-made furniture is more affordable and readily available, but it might lack the unique touch you're looking for. So, how do you make the right choice? Consider these four questions before deciding! #FurnitureDilemma #BuiltinVsLoose #Interiordesign
