A lot on my mind this week, heavy decisions, a roller coaster of emotions, so it’s no better time than now to take a couple days away from the house, enjoy a few extra hours of peace throughout the day (yes, even with the kids in tow) to find clarity and resolve. The gym at the start of each day is where I set the tone (hotel gyms like this for the win), then lengthy walks in the sun during the afternoon. The quiet moments, still mind and body, let me decipher what’s real and what isn’t, what’s important and what’s not, what chess piece to pick up and where to move it. The smart (and kinda sneaky) way Netflix gets you watching their shows 👀👇 Did you know your Netflix thumbnails look totally different to mine? They create multiple thumbnails for each title and tailor your feed based on your interests. Let’s take Stranger Things as an example. If you spend your Sunday afternoon watching old movies, they’ll probably show you a thumbnail that looks a little like a scene from the 1980’s classic, Ghostbusters (as seen below). But if you’re a huge horror fan who loves tense, jumpy scenes – they’ll show you one of the dark, eerie visuals to get you watching. Same show, just positioned in a totally different way. Humans are visual creatures and Netflix quickly discovered its users make decisions based on their thumbnails.
