Concern for the environment is a crucial family value many parents hope to instill in their children. 🌎♻️🌳 But how exactly can we stimulate young ones to develop an environmentally conscious mindset and habits? We've gained some insights from Encouraging Parents, Courageous Children, a new book by Betty Lou Bettner, Ph.D. In her book, Bettner reminds us that children are motivated by "4 C's". ➡️ They want to CONNECT with others. ➡️ Feel CAPABLE. ➡️ Know they COUNT. ➡️ Feel COURAGEOUS enough to deal with challenges. Read our new April blog post for more details on simple ways parents can encourage children to follow in their eco-friendly footsteps.

We're learning about seeds at Foundations in Boiling Springs, SC! 🌱 Each child was given a bowl with a piece of fruit. They inspected the seeds inside with magnifying glasses to take a closer look. Then, they picked out the seeds so they could try out the fruit and describe its taste.🥝🍏 This is a simple way to get kids curious about the food we eat and where it comes from. It's also a great hands-on sensory activity you can easily try at home! #handsonlearning #earlychildhoodlearning #seedactivities #sensoryplay
