Let's talk a little about talent data and what we are seeing in the tech industry at the moment, why you ask, well it is kinda fun. According to LinkedIn data, when we look at the tech industry, New York City has the most Sales professionals, ahead of any other US city. This has seen 20% growth in the past 12 months. This is the same rate of growth in this talent pool as Los Angeles and Chicago. What's interesting is when you layer on the amount of open jobs in Sales in the tech industry in these locations. NYC has almost 3 times more open jobs than LA and almost double than Chicago. This is both interesting and important to know if you are an employer hiring in these locations right now, or if you are looking for a new job in Sales and Tech. Let's continue with this for a moment, you may ask the question, where is this sales talent coming from? Well, good news is, I can tell you. New York City is gaining this talent the most from San Francisco - meaning professionals in the tech industry and in a sales role have moved from SF to NYC for a new role. What is intriguing is that we are also seeing this talent move from NYC to Miami, a new hub of sales tech talent perhaps is forming? Potentially, Miami has seen 19% growth in this professional pool in the last 12 months, however, doesn't sit at the moment in the top 10 US cities for tech sales professionals. Fun stuff. Connecting global consumer Wellness & Lifestyle brands with talent across Digital, eCommerce, Marketing, Commercial & Ops
Some of you that are more eagle eyed may have noticed that I have recently changed up my focus to work solely with consumer Health, Wellness & Lifestyle brands. This doesn't massively differ from the work I have done over the last 12 years but it just means that I have moved away from working with brands that are bad for health or the planet. Categories like alcohol, fast fashion, sugary drinks and snacks or those generally encouraging consumerism for the sake of it, I can't justify working within. The roles I hire for generally help to get more of the stuff they sell into consumer's hands, whether that be via eCommerce, Marketing or Sales, and I wanted my skill set to be used for creating growth for the good. Sounds very hippy, I know, but as I have gotten older, I can't justify doing things just for the money anymore and I want the brands I work with to feel the same. So with that said, if anyone has any introductions they would like to make to me, in this space, then let me know. I know a lot of brands are in their infancy/growth stage and maybe just need guidance or market insight, so it doesn't have to be a brand that is hiring, I'm just keen to expand my network more deeply. I work across the UK & US.
