here’s a breakdown of the 7 types of content I’m creating, how often I do it, and how it impacts my 2 primary businesses: 1. Writing 1 book book per year (my 5th book comes out on May 7th): attracts some clients to PACIFIC CAPITAL and Platinum Elevated, expands my audience reach and gets me invitations to speak on some big stages. 2. Writing 365 LinkedIn posts per year: attracts some clients to both of my primary businesses, was the main driver for 2024 Platinum Elevated members, connects me to all of my new team members hired, also connects me to other business professionals to refer to. 3. Writing 100-140 newsletters per year: keeps my thoughts top of mind for people who already are connected, clients of PACIFIC CAPITAL often forward and share the email to family and friends. If I miss a couple weeks without sending my newsletter, I get a lot of people asking what’s up. 😂 4. Vlogging on Instagram stories pretty much all the time: no idea if it actually impacts my businesses, but it’s my most creative outlet because I enjoy making video reels, and vlogging about family, vacations and sports… definitely shows the most personal side of me to business connections and clients. 5. Being a guest on 150-200 podcasts per year and recording 100+ podcasts episodes as a co-host per year: definitely increases audience reach, gets our messaging out there for the right fit clients of PACIFIC CAPITAL and Platinum Elevated. 6. Writing 12-20 articles for Entrepreneur Media every year and now being on the Forbes Business Council and writing 12-20 yearly for them too: not sure of the exact business impact, but I believe it establishes some level of credibility. 7. Being quoted in media weekly and doing around 6-10 live television interviews per year: not sure if it actually brings new clients to our businesses but the articles are shared and strengthen credibility for potential clients. Okay, there you have it. I popped the hood for ya this morning! Hope that was interesting to at least a couple of you because I get asked about it all the time — I don’t think founders can escape the responsibility of spreading the message of your business and creating content! When asked “where do your new clients come from,” it seems like everyone always goes with the easy answer that “word of mouth” is their #1 source of business. While I could say that’s the case, I could also say that my consistent content efforts drive a ton of business!!

I'm curious to know if you've made any content strategy adjustments over the years. For example, you share a lot more personal stuff on LinkedIn than most (more than I do for sure) and it seems like most of your stuff isn't related to PACIFIC CAPITAL but personal growth/development, family updates, etc. Did you used to share more "professional" content before or have you always used LinkedIn and similar platforms to share more personal items as a way to build a personal brand? I could obviously be wrong it's just my perspective.

You are a machine 📈Chad Willardson, CFF®, CRPC® ! My wife Heather Milburn and I talk about your content often. It is inspiring and I always find value in what you produce. Do you have plans or ideas for any other creative content channels for the future (YouTube, Threads, etc..)? And do you have people on your team that help to edit and script your podcast/longer from video content?

Yesterday, someone asked me what I enjoy most about working for PACIFIC CAPITAL. One thing that really stands out for me is the opportunity to learn from you. I admire how you bring creativity into everything you do. Watching you craft content for social media, marketing, PR, and nurturing client relationships is not just educational but inspiring as well.
