End of the story. Is the beginning of a new story. It never really is the end. Only a movie duration is 2 hours. Life goes on. When you say yes to challenges and events. Story unfolds. Fear of unknown propels the story forward. What if👇 → I don't get the job. → She doesn't like me. → My business doesn't work. → He gets ahead of me. Whatever it may be, it will make you act. Act can be either out of wisdom or desperation. But that will define rest of your story. Not taking an action is out of question. As inaction is still an action. Might just give some meaning to it. So, hesitate but take that step. Let your story unfold. #storytelling

Change: The Act Of Altering Things From One State Or Idea To Another If you want to change your life, relationships, business or anything else, you have to be aware of the stories you’ve told yourself and/or believed up to this point about that thing and CHOOSE to tell yourself a different one. It’s a shift in consciousness if we’re talking about it in spiritual terms. If we’re talking about it in psychological or personal growth terms, it’s rewiring your brain and nervous system. How do you do it? Several ways. There’s always more than one way to do anything. Here’s a fun list to play with. Who is telling the story? We all try so hard to control our narrative…  But who’s teaching the “inner” narrator to tell a good story?  Ever noticed how we sometimes view life through a storyteller's lens instead of facts? That “inner” narrator often guides our perceptions, whether it's through our younger self, our adolescent uncomfortable self, a past influence, or even the news or myths. But what if we hit pause and asked ourselves, "Who's telling this story?" Who is this person telling MY story? Many times it’s NOT our loving or professional self.   This simple question brings awareness and opens the door for change. By figuring out where our stories come from, we gain clarity and the power to pivot. We then can create a better more thoughtful perspective. Humans love stories. We love them when we are children and continue to love them as adults. I've often talked about the power of story-telling when making a powerful presentation - "let me tell you a story about..." is a phrase almost guaranteed to make people sit up straighter and lean toward you. Stories are also powerful when they are told to ourselves by ourselves. The stories you make up in your head about every interaction you have can help or harm you. And changing the story can change the outcome - or at least how you feel about the outcome. As a coach, one of the things I work on with almost every client is the stories they tell themselves. I often say, If you're going to make up a story, at least make it a good one! What is a story you tell yourself that helps you? The Three Acts of Emotions You see an angry person. His body language tells you he is angry because he is biting his lips and his eyes are as red as fire is. This is what you see on the surface. Below the surface is the reason for being angry. There are many reasons for a person to get angry including unmet expectations, failure in exams, losing job and having a fight with his wife, just to name few. Anger leads to action and the more intense anger is the more the aggressive actions shall be. Eventually the person feels furious and rages with actions such as breaking glass, shouting, threatening and even shooting. This is the third layer of emotions that is evident to everyone. The three acts of storytelling are in fact the three acts of our emotions and our response to them. This extends to all emotions and not anger only. Building tension in storytelling means building the tension resulting from carrying emotions. Understanding emotions is a foundation for good storytelling. Empathic Creating Why should people care about what you have to talk about when you don’t care about them. Just a quick definition to make sure we are on the same page, empathy is all about being able to really connect with a person or group of people's experience. When you have a heartfelt appreciation or compassion for someone you will be shocked at how important your voice can become in their life. It’s not that you have not agree with everyone, it’s that when you care about why people make the choices they do you will gain a huge edge in sharing a story with them. #story #storytelling #empathy #authentic #video
