This week at Mercy Hospital in Durango we were blessed to distribute more than $500,000 to five nonprofit organizations that serve community members throughout the Four Corners. These Health Equity & Advancement Fund grants, which this year alone total $5 million across our CommonSpirit Health division serving Colorado, Kansas and Utah, are awarded to organizations that share our commitment to meeting the mental health, food security, social justice and health equity needs of the communities we serve.
We're honored to stand alongside worthy nonprofit grant recipients Community Compassion Outreach, Southern Colorado Community Action Agency, Inc., The PIC Place , NavajoStrong, and Cancer Support Community Southwest Colorado. We thank them for their continued work, and we're proud to support their programs with these grants.
