Hearing the voice of the customer is the key to success for modern organizations. Agility without understanding customer needs is unattainable. Therefore, what drives impactful organizational design for customer-centric and agile streamlining of project management processes is not the magic wand of senior management and the board, but simply market logic. The more competitive the market, the more influential the customer voice, leading to more suitable and tailored products, and greater agility. #CustomerCentricity #AgileManagement #ProjectManagement #ProductManagement

Owner “van Appeven | Idea to Business” ★ Result driven pragmatist ★ Organizational Design for Tech Innovation ★ Innovation Management
Introducing I-PROJECT ENTERPRISE Recently van Appeven | Idea to Business introduced I-PROJECT, the innovation execution tool (https://lnkd.in/gMU7WbqE). In addition, we are now launching I-PROJECT ENTERPRISE. When the enterprise is growing, scaling from start up, the need for transparency across the total program grows. As a result, proper Program Management is enabled. I-PROJECT ENTERPRISE is based on product innovation principles, as also teached in our courses, and is the outcome of a desired way of working. It is born from necessity, not a tool in search of a problem. Some highlights: ➡ Build on a solid and robust, of the shelf, cloud-based planning database. ➡ Tuned and featured to support planning and execution of multidisciplinary product innovation on project and program level, also giving transparency to competence managers. ➡ Achieve synchronization among multiple teams within a large project, pulsating to a common heartbeat. I-PROJECT ENTERPRISE acts as your "scrum of scrums" tool, facilitating proactive actions instead of delays. ➡ Proven way of working, piloted at renowned high-tech companies. ➡ Great UX and ease of use. ➡ Easy implementation: I-PROJCT ENTERPRISE is a mature PPM tool, but easy to implement. ➡ Customization made easy. Easy and low cost customization possible, even by key-users. If you're interested in a demo or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out at info@vanappeven.com. #productdevelopment #productinnovation #innovationmanagement #agile #systemarchitecture #business #leadership #innovation #management

True agility in today's business world combines agile practices, product-centric perspectives, and technology utilization. One of the barriers that holds organizations back is continuing to focus on projects as a funding model to distribute investment. There are serious drawbacks to this approach and eventually you will need to reconsider how your portfolio of work is prioritized and managed to move forward and adopt business agility practices. Roadmaps vs Plans I like to frame it this way... Roadmaps: - Look at a long-time horizon. - They are flexible and iterative. - Describe the WHAT and the WHY - Customer-centric and outcome-focused. - A communication tool. Plans: - Look at the near horizon. - Are more static and sequential, as they need to deal with things like sequencing, dependencies, etc. - Describe the HOW and WHEN - Internally focused, a tool for internal use, not the customer. - Therefore, more output-focused. - A planning tool. By no means is this an either-or. Don’t go drinking too much 'agile cool-aid’ now and think that plans are somehow anti-agile. In fact, planning is something you do more of with agile. Plans are a helpful tool. But plans are a tool for managing things like dependencies, sequencing, and actually determining how we intend to get something done. Whereas, Roadmaps are a communication tool. They are a tool for communicating the future direction of the product, as it aligns with your vision and strategy. ==== More on building effective Product Roadmaps here 👉 https://lnkd.in/guTdGCXX Pic from last month's webinar on Product Roadmaps, watch the recording here: https://lnkd.in/gzitJsaq

An overview of various types of roadmaps commonly used in product management. 1. Release Plans: a. Collections of features or functionality grouped for a coordinated release. b. Themed with objectives for clear communication. c. Emphasis on communication rather than explicit deadlines. 2. Sprint Plans: a. Primarily used in Agile development. b. Short-term plans detailing tasks within a sprint (usually two weeks). c. Focuses on immediate tasks and tracks progress toward larger product goals. 3. Now - Next - Later Roadmaps: a. Offers a high-level strategic view of priorities in three categories: current tasks (Now), upcoming tasks (Next), and long-term plans (Later). b. Ideal for initial prioritization planning, providing clarity on immediate, short-term, and long-term tasks without specific timeframes. 4. Kanban/Status-Based Roadmaps: a. Derived from lean methodology, visualizes work at different stages. b. Columns like "In Beta," "In Development," and "Under Consideration" offer a granular view of progress without specific release dates. 5. Timeline-Based Roadmaps: a. Can be high-level or granular, ranging from specific dates to year-by-year plans. b. Despite agile hesitations about long-term planning, consumers often seek this level of detail. c. Crucial to highlight certainty levels at different time intervals. Each type of roadmap serves a unique purpose and caters to different stakeholder needs. Choosing the right one depends on the context, goals, and audience involved in the product development process. Shravan Tickoo #productmanagement #productroadmapping #differentypes #pm #apm #insights
