Center for Discovery invites you to our next FREE CE event in our 2024 speaker series: “How to Compassionately Partner with Families in the Treatment of Eating Disorders”.
Research shows the necessity and effectiveness of family or natural support system collaboration, along with the help of professionals, in the continuity of care for eating disorders. In this presentation, panelists will discuss the importance of involving the family or support system at the different levels of care.
Learning Objectives:
• Explain the perspective and fears of families of eating disorder patients and how to develop empathy, effectively build rapport, and foster growth and reconnection between the family and their loved ones.
• Identify at least three resources or tools to use during family sessions and how to navigate family sessions while using language translation services.
• Identify at least two skills to utilize when working with families who are prioritizing academics.
• Discuss family therapy using a cultural humility approach.
We hope you join at this event where we hear from our experts: Juli Agajanian, LMFT, CEDS-C, Director of Clinical Supervision; Carllie Meeks, LCSW, Program Therapist; Melissa Ford, Therapist of Path to Peace; Andrea Sanchez, Regional Floater Therapist.
