It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Reggie Webb, a true giant in our community, in business, and in our personal lives. As the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of CEEM Cooperative Economic Empowerment Movement, Dr. Webb was not just a leader but a visionary whose passion and dedication propelled CEEM since its inception in 2018. I still remember the look in his eyes when he shared the idea of the movement with so many of us as we gathered in his living room that fateful day.   His remarkable leadership and commitment to economic empowerment have left an indelible mark, inspiring countless individuals and businesses to strive for excellence and inclusivity in our community. Dr. Webb taught us all about parity—the word, the meaning, the mission forever our goal.   CEEM was near and dear to his heart, but his legacy extends far beyond his role at CEEM; he was our north star whose wisdom and guidance touched the lives of all who had the privilege of working with him or being in his presence. His vision and innovative spirit paved the way for transformative change, creating opportunities and fostering unity within our community.   While we mourn the loss of a great leader, mentor, and friend, we also celebrate his profound impact and last inspiration he leaves behind. Dr. Reggie Webb's legacy will continue to guide us as we carry forward his vision of empowerment, parity, and community building through CEEM and beyond. STATEMENT FROM THE WEBB FAMILY ABOUT THE PASSING OF THEIR BELOVED FATHER, CEEM Cooperative Economic Empowerment Movement FOUNDER, DR. REGGIE WEBB  Luke 23:43 "And he said to him, ‘Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.’”   To our beloved Family and Friends,   With heavy hearts and a profound sense of peace, we share the passing of Reginald Webb. On July 20, 2024, he transitioned peacefully in his sleep. It was a moment filled with love as he embarked on his next journey.   Reginald was a beacon of strength, a loving husband, father, and a true leader. His life was a testament to the power of love and the impact one person can have on so many. We are eternally grateful for the love he has given us and the indelible mark he has left on our hearts. His entire life was in service to building communities where everyone had an equitable place at the table, living by the teachings of Christ Jesus and striving to achieve parity.   Jeremiah 31:3 "Love Yesterday, Today, and Forever."   As we mourn his absence, we also celebrate his life—a life well-lived and well-loved. In a dream, our dear Mercedes saw Reginald free of pain, laughing with his grandmother who raised him, in peace and pure joy. This image of him brings us comfort and assurance that he is now with the Lord and his cherished Mama Annie, whom he lovingly called Momma.   We will come together to honor and celebrate Reginald's extraordinary life. New from AFROTECH A Black Architectural Firm Led A Project To Develop The First 3D-Printed Home In Detroit, MI The technology that supported the home’s development featured a “robotic arm using cementitious mortar,” which decreased labor and expenses and supported more sustainable materials, per the press release. “This home proves that, by leveraging digitalization and robotics, we can solve for many of the problems that plague the homebuilding industry. We can build right-sized homes, with fewer workers, that cost less to heat and cool. We can build homes with features to support living at any stage of life,” said Tom Woodman, co-founder and executive director of Citizen Robotics, in the press release. As previously reported by AFROTECH™, the TIAA president and CEO’s historic feats include, in 2021, becoming the first woman to lead the financial retirement services company in more than 100 years as well as one of two Black women to helm a Fortune 500 company.
