I love long weekends, such as Memorial Day, which is happening right now in the US, because I can finally use this extra time to catch up on my personal technical debt. I'm glad to announce the public release of my new Apple ][ emulator written in Rust: "Maple //". https://lnkd.in/gzkx65bE Maple // has been ready for public release for a while but I needed some time to do some clean up, write some doc, add some screenshots, etc... Here is the github link: https://lnkd.in/gHPDVfdW It still has an embarrassing number of bugs and missing functionalities, but if there's something I've learned about implementing emulators (and this is my second Apple ][ emulator, the first one was written in Kotlin: https://lnkd.in/grvVaTBf), it's that they are NEVER finished. So if I wait until it's finished, it will never get published. So here it is. If you are into retro computing, and the Apple ][ in general, take a look. Maple // has a few interesting twists over existing emulators which I hope you'll like. Oh, one last thing: if you click on that github link, make sure you are logged into github, or some of the screenshots / videos will not show up and that README I spent a lot of time working on will look very dry.
I just started to learn emulation programming. This project is god sent. Bookmarked. Thanks Cedric 🙏🏽
Love it!
Very impressive!
