Why is it that some mediocre brands get a ton of press, and ones with a great product or mission get zip, zero, nada? If you aren't getting the press you deserve, you aren't telling the right story -- full stop -- but we can help you uncover what your sticky story is and how to leverage it for great press. VOTE for (what, you thought you got free advice without a call-to-action?!) and join our #SXSW2024 #PR Workshop: "Your Product Isn't The Story: Unblock Great Press Coverage" http://bit.ly/3OR2EI4
I had the honor of collaborating with some of my favorite women in tech, comms & VC to submit two all-women #SXSW2024 PanelPicker submissions that I feel really passionate about. Thanks to Chelsey Korman, Judene Small Jean-Louis, Dana M. What's it actually like being a woman in tech? Why are we still seeing fewer women than men in entry level roles? How do we ensure the women who do enter the industry stay long term? Sarah Persov was kind enough to share her talk from Karren Brady's Women in Business & Tech Expo (1000% recommend - one of the best tech events I've been to) which gives you a bull-💩 free account. This is a crazy thread on Twitter/X: A tech conference had a line up of heavy hitter male speakers and 3 women. Except the 2 of 3 women were fake...as in they were not real people. The organizer created fake profiles to make it appear the conference was more diverse. This is a paid, sold-out conference with a large number of attendees. Crazy! There are so many well qualified women in tech (and DoD/Space/you name it) that it would have taken less real work than creating fake profiles to find some great women speakers. If you are organizing a conference and can't find women speakers, let me know and I'll point you to some amazingly talented and qualified people. As a side note, I get asked to participate in a lot of panels. The first thing I tell the organizer is that I have a hard "no manel" rule -- as in no panels of all men. I've declined some invitations because of this. (Thanks to Dan Ward who introduced me to the term "manel"!) I guess I now have to add a "no AI generated women speakers" rule!? https://lnkd.in/dT5QAPBh
