Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce’s Post

#GoInternational #LUinJapan 🗾 On Wednesday, the official and business delegations headed to Tsukuba City, also known as the Science City. The officials and delegates were greeted by the mayor of Tsukuba City, Mr Tatsuo Igarashi before heading for a networking lunch. This was followed by a presentation from TierIV, a deep-tech startup from Japan focusing on autonomous driving, with a vision to making autonomous vehicles the world standard to ensure a more sustainable world. The group was then off to visit the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), which is the largest public research organization in Japan. The delegation learned about how the institute creates innovation through science and technology. 🔎 💡 After much food for thought, the learning curve continued as more insights were given at a visit to National Institute for Materials Science. With their aim to change the world with materials, the delegation got a better idea of the research being done at this impressive institution. Finally, the group headed to their last stop : the Tsukuba x Luxembourg Startup Night. Mayor Igarashi thanked the delegation for their visit to Tsukuba and the mutual understandings between Luxembourg and Japan. A sentiment that was shared by minister Lex Delles who highlighted the fruitful discussions of the day and the existing ties between both countries. Mrs Mio Kawada, Executive VP of JETRO - Japan External Trade Organization, then highlighted the MOC of JETRO Brussels with the Chambre de Commerce du Luxembourg. It is indeed agreements like these that strengthen bilateral ties and help foster business opportunities. This was highlighted by the next point on the agenda. 🤝 During the dynamic pitching session, 4 Luxembourgish startups EmailTree.ai, Virtual Rangers, Gradel and Rafinex highlighted their business models and visions, next to 4 Tsukuba based startups. 🚀 The session allowed for exploration of potential cooperation opportunities between these young business, which was further explored in a networking reception after the pitches. A full day in Tsukuba City came to a fruitful end as the group gets ready for the next day’s business forum. --- European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC), Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office - Tokyo (ルクセンブルク貿易投資事務所), Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg Space Agency, Luxinnovation GIE, Ministère des Affaires intérieures Luxembourg, Ministère des Affaires étrangères et européennes, Luxembourg, Ministère de l'Économie - Luxembourg, Université du Luxembourg, Artec 3D Gold Certified Scanning Specialist, B Medical Systems, Brainframe.com GRC, CTI Systems, Data Design Engineering, EmailTree.ai, Fujitsu Luxembourg, Gradel, Heruka-AI Consulting, Hôpitaux Robert Schuman, iSpace, Inc., LuxProvide, Microsoft, NTT DATA, Inc., OQ Technology, POST Luxembourg, Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS), Rafinex, SES Satellites & Virtual Rangers.
